Barney Kessell and all the other old bluesy dogs getting talked about have me pulling out old albums. The Contemporary label, the home of some of these cats under discussion, has consistently fine sound, too. And a note to the lonewolfster, Lady Gabor, with Charles Lloyd back when they were with Chico Hamilton is Szabo at the very best I've heard him. Long, soulful number. Lloyd on flute. Happy trails.
