If you have been following the "Rebuild Chronicles" of Dynaco's ONLY tube-type Integrated Amplifier, then you know how nicely this one turned out.  If not, take a look at the whole story at: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=60578.0.  The Selector Switch and the Potentiometers are NOS Dynaco parts from my "parts stash" and operate flawlessly and noiselessly.  All passive components have been replaced with brand new parts.  This amplifier is outfitted with some WONDERFUL tubes as well.  The Preamplifier tubes are Dynaco-branded Telefunken smooth-plates that were VERY lightly used.  (They test higher than NOS RCA gray plates!)  The 7199 driver tubes are NOS RCA black plates and the Output tubes are a NOS matched quad of GE 6BQ5/EL84's.

It is always difficult to determine a fair price for one of these units, but I *think* I now have a very reasonable formula.  Here's how it works:  In order to be fair to both you and me, I am pricing these "projects" somewhere between the original Kit Price, and the original Wired Price - adjusted for inflation.  If this unit were absolutely cosmetically PERFECT, I would price it at the original Wired Price - again, adjusted for inflation.  While this particular unit is VERY nice, some of the lettering around the Power Switch is worn and there are a few VERY minor blemishes to the Face Plate.  The brown paint on the cover has a couple of "blemishes" as well.  As a result, I will offer this unit at a price that is "midway" between the original Kit and the original Wired Price.  All "adjustments" for inflation are determined using Tom Halfhill's "Inflation Calculator" (a VERY useful resource - Thanks, Tom!) at: http://www.halfhill.com/inflation.html.  In case you aren't familiar with Tom Halfhill, he is a former Senior Editor for Byte Magazine and a current contributor to Maximum PC; writing the "Fast Forward" column each month.

Anyway, here are the specific Dollar amounts:  Back in 1964, the SCA-35 sold for a Kit Price of $99.95 (in 1964 Dollars).  This translates to a price of $677.55 in 2008 Dollars.  The Wired Price for an SCA-35 in 1964 was $129.95.  This translates to a price of $880.92 in 2008 Dollars.  The midway point between those two prices works out to $779.235.  To make things easier on ALL of us, lets just call it $775.00.  This price will include free shipping within the United States.  Foreign buyers will have to pay all shipping charges.

As always, I stand behind any of my rebuilds with a 1 Year guarantee on new parts and all labor, as well as a 90 day guarantee on the NOS tubes.  If the Telefunken 12AX7's develop a problem, simply return them and I will replace them with another pair of "lightly-used" Telefunken 12AX7's from another Dynaco unit.  These guarantees are void if the unit is modified, or if any of the tubes are *obviously* abused.  (This is only fair.)

While I *may* be able to come up with another SCA-35 at a later date, it will certainly not be as nice as this one, nor will it have all new potentiometers and the Selector Switch will be a refurbished one, rather than a NEW one.

If you have been "hankering" for a Vintage 6BQ5 Integrated Amplifier; especially a Dynaco SCA-35, you won't find a nicer one ANYWHERE!  This truly is the CLOSEST you will get to a NEW SCA-35 on the planet!  For more information, just e-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com and we can talk about it.

Thanks for looking at this ad.  I hope I can be of service to you.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Dynaco made only ONE tube-type Integrated amplifier - THIS one; the SCA-35.  This is an amplifier that will bring your favorite singers right into your room with you.  There is a sense of intimacy that other amps leave behind.  There will only be ONE SCA-35 *this* nice available from my Dynaco equipment "closet."  Don't let this one slip  past you.  It is as close to a new Dynaco SCA-35 amplifier as you will EVER find.

Contact me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com to find out more.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

A few folks *might* have briefly seen a "Sale Pending" notice for this SCA-35 Integrated Amplifier.  It was a "close call", but as it turned out, the sale did not go through so the amplifier is still available.  If you've been "mulling it over" about adding it to YOUR collection, it *might* be a good time to stop "mulling" and start e-mailing.  It's a beautiful amplifier that *deserves* a good home.  I doubt you'll find a prettier (or better PERFORMING) SCA-35 anywhere else!  Just e-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com and we can talk about it.  Thanks!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Happy Thanksgiving to all US Audiocircle Members!  While this has been a challenging year for MANY of us, we still have a LOT to be thankful for.  I am truly thankful for becoming a member of Audiocircle this year.  I am EXTREMELY thankful for getting to know quite a few WONDERFUL people who also share a passion for our "collective illness!"  I can honestly say that EVERY person I have become acquainted with through Audiocircle has been a true joy to get to know.  (How often can you say that in the "REAL World?"  But it is absolutely true!)

Of course, I am MOST thankful for the EXTREME patience and understanding of my "MOST Significant Other."  She has tolerated parts and tubes and Dynaco carcasses of all kinds, all OVER the house!  Without her caring and understanding, NONE of this would have been possible!

In honor of Thanksgiving, I am reducing the price on the two items I currently have available for purchase.  In the case of this beautiful Dynaco SCA-35 Integrated Amplifier, the original price was listed above at $775.00.  From now until 12 Midnight Sunday (Eastern Standard Time), I am reducing the price to $650.00!  This is a $125.00 reduction!  But this will be a limited time reduction in the price.  Once the deadline passes, the price will go back to $775.00.

As many of you know, I don't take the "cheap and dirty" way out on any of these units.  My goal is to allow a fortunate few the opportunity to hear for themselves, the "magic" Dynaco was able to accomplish.  If you have been "sittin' on the fence" regarding this amplifier, perhaps this will "nudge" you into further consideration.  If not, I truly understand, considering our current economic conditions here in the States.

Always remember that whether you BUY something from my Dynaco offerings, or whether you are just looking for information regarding your own existing Dynaco products, if I can be of help in ANY way, all you have to do is e-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com.  If we can save one more unit from the eBay "chop shop artists" who carve these units up and sell the pieces, then we have accomplished a "noble act" together.

Thanks for taking the time to subject yourself to my "miscellaneous ramblings."  Have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.  NEVER forget to reserve your most SINCERE thanks to the Creator who allows us the joy of music and sound in the FIRST place!

My sincerest and humblest thanks to EVERYONE!

Bill

Only a little over one day left to take advantage of the reduced prices on this (almost) new SCA-35.  It's loaded with all the right tubes too - even a pair of Telefunken smooth plates with VERY little mileage on them.  Buy before midnight tomorrow (EST) and you'll save a BUNDLE.

Don't let this one get away!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

I will be out of town when the midnight deadline hits, but if you e-mail me before midnight EST, I will still sell this amplifier at the reduced price.  Time's a wastin'!

Bill Thomas

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.  Sorry that no one took advantage of the "Thanksgiving Sale" on this beautiful, completely remanufactured amplifier.  Prices are back where they started.

Carry On!

Well, the deed is done!  Our little SCA-35 is on the way to a new, loving home!  My SINCERE thanks to EVERYONE for viewing the "rebuild chronicles" and for taking a look at this ad.  (And thanks for the kind words, Lee.  Sometimes that's *just* enough to keep me "toiling away" until the NEXT project is completed!)

And we DO have some interesting projects "in the pipeline!"  We'll be wrapping up the "Ultimate Stereo 70" this week, weather permitting.  (You really can't paint if it's too cold and right now, it's WAY too cold!)  But, I'm working out the details on an "alternate plan" to do the final paint work "off premises" where things will be warm enough to properly get the job done.

I have another "non-stock" project "in the works", but before we embark on that journey, I thought it might be fun to find out what YOU would like to see next.  I have posted a poll in the "Vintage Circle" in order to help determine where YOUR interest lies.  Here's a link: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=62408.0.

Let's have some fun and see what develops!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

I find your "rebuild chronicles" some of the most enjoyable, interesting and enlightening stuff on the web!  Keep it up!   :thumb:

One of these days, I'm going to have to break down and buy one of your masterpieces.

Peace,

Lee
