If the music is good I don't give a crap where it's sold...I'll just go buy it, enjoy, it, and get on with life.

Why people get so nutted up about such silly things is beyond me.

Several reason.

First it is "un-American" to fight private enterprise, and maybe even "commie" or socialists in nature to only sell certain places. I personally do not have a problem with that, but just FYI.

Then the people in the countries that Wal-Mart control might have an issue, since their life, childrens' life, etc, suck.

Next off not everywhere has a Wal-Mart or Sam's club, and whatever the hell, believe it or not. There are cities like Chicago that never let them in. (well at one point in time)

 as American as AC/DC is... oh wait, they aren't American anyway  :duh:

'private enterprise' has brought about this 'exclusive' sales deal - AC/DC appear to be anti-singles-sales model as defined by iTunes as the prioroty, not "pro Walmart" as you have written. That's their choice (or their management's choice).... how many places specialise in album sales with a US National network of stores anyway? not many and Walmart probably covers more ground than all specialty shops...

don't sweat the small stuff, if you like it buy it and enjoy it - who cares where the price tag says it came from...

On my high school skip day, we cranked AC/DC all day with a keg in a back yard.  It was cool 28 years ago....

Now, I think I will just skip AC/DC. :duh:

Yea baby!   Me too and there is something about the mix of alcohol, too much testosterone and AC/DC that really brought out the best in me.

In terms of being Un-American, we have been arguing about the meaning of being an "American" for over 200 years and it seems to mean different things to different people.    Not to mention that the term alone is kind of arrogant seeing that we have picked the terminology to mean us, ignoring the rest of the continent.

I'd argue that the best description of the term (in my opinion) would be to have guiding principles and beliefs that paralleled those of the founders.    Of course they where a diverse set of guys so pick your flavor.    I don't think many of them would have problems with Walmart but they would have had a very dim view of the merits of AC/DC.

It was strictly a business move.  If you haven't noticed, the music business has changed dramatically and it's gotten a lot harder for musicians to make a living.  I read a couple of interviews where AC/DC said they did the wal mart deal, because they were guaranteed a certain amount of albums sold, which made money for them, their fans get to buy the disc for $9.99 which is a deal for the fans and they are only releasing the vinyl through independent record stores, not big box retailers.

I thought they were doing their best to make sure everyone got a piece of the pie, which I felt was pretty cool.  Can't keep everyone happy in these deals.

'Hells Bells' on a discman before any major track meet was a must for me 1980/81....it just had a way of inspiring me....I had nearly zero idea anyone was around me on the track after 4 minutes of it  :thumb:

(Not that I always won, but I was in my little happy/demonic zone with AC/DC rattling in my brain)

As AC/DC are Aussies (except Brian Johnson who's a Scot, I believe) I think they couldn't care less if they seem un-American

I think this question has already been most excellently covered by Bill and Ted in the movie.

I picked up the CD because I was there picking up something else.
Only 1 play through, but I like most of the songs.

Wally World didn't have the vinyl, so I'll have to go to my real record store for that  :D

I never shop at WalMart but then again I have enough AC/DC cds . They never change their sound and their records are pretty much interchangeable .

i don't buy any cd's at wal-mart. not because they are wal-mart, but because they only sell censored cd's. censorship....now that IS un-american.

You're the reason bands have to make these types of deals to survive.  In ten years, there will be no CDs in stores, mainly because of people like you.

Well as much as some of you bitched and whined, seems AC/DC is EXTREMELY happy with the deal as it landed them the number one spot on the charts at nearly 3/4 of a million cd's sold..all thanks to WM.

Bet if they do another cd, it will be sold via WM.
