Has anyone auditioned these two speakers? What are your thoughts? How do you think they would fare in the following setting?: Room size 28'x15'x9', placement on short wall, powered by 18w tube amp.
Have you tried the resistor tweak on the 3.1s? It consists of tying a 10 watt, 10 Ohm resistor across the subwoofer terminals. Don't drive the subwoofer driver with an amp - the resistor only. Common sense says it will do nothing. But I and some others like the resistor tweak to actually using a sub amp.According to taste, you can try a 15 Ohm resistor, but use one of at least 10 watts.marty
I have Gallo 3.0 version and use it with my modded Jolida 302b. Very nice combination but it needs more power. I will be hooking up my sub amp again as these speakers used to be in the main,Large room.I thought I could get away with it but need more juice. I will say that for moderate level small room listening with acoustic jazz, piano it is good.

For me a wide soundstage and a nice midrange are more important than great bass. Still i would like to buy speakers that match well with my 24W amp, any suggestions? Thanks

There is 1 fact here that hasn't been mentioned yet,,, even with only 24 watts you won't need a subwoofer with the Lorelei's. I've posted enough here on my love of the Lorelei so a simple search will save me from repeating myself. Plus after over 4 years use, nothing has changed and I continue to crank them up. I've never hear the Gallo's myself.Cheers,Robin
