Last week I was contacted by an audiophile in Canada interested in the V60. He's a current Infinity owner (RSIIb) and wanted a compare-and-contrast opinion about the two systems. So I referred him to V60 owner Dave H who owned Infinity RS1b's for many years. I asked Dave to answer the man's questions and give him an objective evaluation of the two speakers.
I heard back from Dave, who was glad to do so. Indeed he emailed my Canadian contact and gave a brief reply, with more info to follow.
Rather routine, you say? Not quite. Dave's house, located an hour outside of New Orleans, sits in the direct path of murderous Hurricane Gustav, and he had to interrupt boarding up windows and wrapping audio gear in plastic, expecting massive flooding!
Today I heard from Dave again: he has telephone but no AC power, and may be without it for weeks. No substantial damage to his home (he stayed put during the storm).
And yes, he'll be happy to contact our Canadian friend again as soon as possible.
The postal service ("Neither rain, sleet nor snow...")has nothing on decidated audiophiles willing to help out fellow music lovers.
In my book, Dave is a hero.
