I think quad mono Spectrons and your own power generation facility are in your future.

Spectron says 7000 watts each amp in mono, so that's 14,000 per side.  The Revs might be looking for more but I think that's about as good as you can do within the audiophile realm.  Look at the bright side, the amps are so efficient you'll probably only burn 40,000 watts or so and only when you're really cranking.  The rest of the time you'll probably burn less than 20,000 watts.

Put another way, it's only [200] 100-watt light bulbs.  Would you rather have a supernaturally bright room or total audio bliss?  Tho't so.

The new power plant might not be quite as efficient but they're getting better and even with the high gas prices you'll be better off than paying electric utility retail prices.

Wow Pat, you sure are working the power grid.  You could always stay within the home country and get a pair of those sweet Bryston 28B SST's.  Hard to imagine anything their 2 kw couldn't handle.

Don't worry I'll hold your hand (that's were I draw the line though on the touchy feely stuff), the only issue is having to wear a surgical support to carry those psu's past the customs guys.  All those Class D low carbon foot print guys, and wimpy battery boys, can only look on in awe as we leave them behind in our power trail.

I can't comment on the KW750 but, following the lead from Toyboy, I contacted the guy (John Sampson) who mods MF equipment and sent my KW500 PSU to him.  Turns out I knew him as he worked for MF for over 20 years, and he was the source for any technical questions or issues.  He was always straight and brutally honest (like working with Danny Ritchie/Dan Wright/Jim Salk etc), and he's also a big music lover.  Bottom line is that he knows the strength and weakness of the MF range from their first amp, knows which amp/cd player is the sweet spot in the range and knows how to improve the models that are worth improving. 
I should get my PSU back next week, when I do I'll add to this thread and keep my MF buddy (2bigears) in the loop.
At the same time MF is more 'main stream' than most of the boutique brands that are normally discussed on AC, so understand that the audience will be limited.

Hmmm -never noticed that before.  I wonder what claims MF is making regarding the sonic effects of these upgrades...

Edit: I see that Musical Fidelity makes these claims regarding their amp upgrades:

When B&W made the Nautilus 801's... Electrocompaniet got to make Nemo.
On the same level I believe Musical Fidelity has made an absolute immense amplifier, ment to drive Kef Muon. (sorta speak..  )
I'm not sure what they call it, was it "Titan" ? I think so. But it is bigger than the KW monos, again I think.
I'm sure it will be given to M Fremer to review this beast. Or so I would hope at least.
Kef used it on the CES 2008 show for driving a pair of Muons.

The MF 'upgrade' option is expensive if you reside in the US/Canada, the cost of shipping an amp of this size and weight is very expensive.  I Fedexed my PSU enclosure (with transformers taken out) and paid $260!  Sending the amplifier as well is just not worth the expense and I will have these components fitted locally.  In addition you need to understand the export/import issues to avoid getting hit with duties when you ship to the UK and import back into the US. 

For the US/Canada another similar option is PartsConnexion, who have been offering upgrades to selective pieces along with Underwood.  The upgrades are 'similar' in concept to those offered by MF. 

I chose the JS Audio option as it is more substantive (complete power supply rebuild) than just the replacement and refinement of a few components and, having discussed this with highly respected modifiers here in the US, starting with a robust and clean power supply is a critical first step to maximize performance.  I will report back in a few weeks time.
