Home audio????
« on: 28 Jun 2008, 03:22 pm »
I hired an A/V company to do all the pre-wiring since my house is being built and the walls were fully opened.  I purchase a Denon AVR 4806 with 3 Zone capabilities.  The A/V guy is telling me that I need separate amps for the remaining of the speakers?  Zone 1 will be the Home Theater system the rest of the zones 2/3 are audio speakers for stereo.

I purchase Sonance inceiling and Mariners for outside use.  A total of 8 Pairs.

Is my A/V guy right?  Not sure since I thought I had everything I needed???

you might be able to route the surround back speaker outputs to the zone 2 0r 3 outputs depending if the receiver gives you the ability to this.

so in a way he is right if you don't have that option. you could always go the multi speaker volume control and go that way so you have independent control over each zone.

there are options like a a-bus system from Russound that is quite good for not a lot of money and will give you a lot of flexibility.

good luck and just look at the owner's manual online and see what your receiver can do.

I was informed that I need another amp, any good recommendations for multi zone setup?  Decent price though since I already spent enough on this setup.

Thanks~!

the only reason you would need to buy another amp for this setup is that you were using your receiver in the 7.1 mode.  otherwise your option's are endless with this receiver according to you manual i found on line.

btw, i know www.partsexpress.com  has some good deals on cheap amps for multi room stuff.

I have installed an advance multi room audio system in my home this stems will allow me to change sources. I could have the CD Changer playing in the kitchen and the XM radio playing in the bedroom. And when the system is playing the music very loud, but when the phone rings the music will automatically mute.and it has many advanced features.
