Reading through the original post I was struck by Zero, but since two other people seemed to beat me to the punch with that one I will submit:

The Phoenix Amp by Frank Van Alstine

Rising from the ashes of the old, come the new and powerful line of solid state amps from the legendary Audio by Van Alstine.

... or another one that follows a direct line of logic stemming from my phoenix suggestion (and in case I missed someone else suggesting phoenix):

Stormbringer from Audio by Van Alstine

phoenix -> thunderbird -> stormbringer!
actually thought that one was appropriate for an amplifier even without an explanation.

OR "PS" series

Van Alstine - Aurora Series - the first light of day. The Aurora occurs in the highest part of the atmosphere.
. That which furnishes, or is a source of, light, as the sun, a star, a candle, a lighthouse, etc.
. Appearance due to the particular facts and circumstances presented to view; point of view; as, to state things fairly and put them in the right light.

I don't mean to be rude, but...well...I don't think the "ARSe" alternative works too well.

At this stage my father would tell me, "Put up, or shut up." So here are my suggestions.

2. How about The AVA Herald? After all, the gear doesn't create the message, it delivers it. And "Herald" has a noble sound to it.

A busy guy, whose name is like an unexpected deluge of Hannukah presents for any would-be marketer. Alas, Kora has already used this name for a DAC. But that's okay, as I still like "The Herald."
