I guess placement-independent floorstanders might be an option, too.

A set of these would be a nice retro blast from my early days of interest in audio....

Yep, I am in reasonable driving distance from Duke.  He has offered to bring a pair down to my place for a listen.
It appears that there are a few AC'ers in the here in the Salt Lake Valley, so we may try to organize some raves, with the possibility of Duke's attendance!

Such a recommendation from the AC speakermodel is high praise, indeed.  :D

As for something different.....I did get to hear Klaus' (Odyssey) wall speakers...but I don't think he makes them anymore. Good sound from a ....painting/picture...

Back in the '70's....Ohm was a "hot" speaker. I liked the Ohm F model...

Intriguing option (the flat panel "art" speakers) !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll definitely keep those in mind.

Our place won't be finished until October/November, so I'll check back in on those as the time gets closer.

I could always get a set of used Canton's (some of my favorite speakers I've owned, though they were BIG floorstanders)

So....some of those "used deals" will be gone. Speaking of used....M&K......had these a long time ago....along with a Canton sub. I gave them to my brother...he matched them with a Carver receiver...and he was happy. They had a nice wood finish...

Now you're talkin' Chris!  8)

Our local group is percolating, and I can EASILY imagine a visit from Duke, where I might be able to ask his advice during the initial dinner & drinks phase of the visit.......
