I just like to say thanks to all for their tremendous level of information, particularly Klaus.  What a hoot to talk with and an outstanding source of information.

I just upgraded a 20 year old pair of Klipsch Forte II's with Bob Crites crossovers and titanium tweeter diaphragms.  I'm replacing a Carver M4.0t amp, also about 20 years old.  I'm slowly upgrading everything after a recent lightning strike here in Florida took out a 5-channel Carver and Onkyo receiver as a pre/pro.

I'm looking forward to the arrival of my new amps and tube pre and couldn't be more excited. :D
Thanks again to all

Thanks everyone, I'll pass on my impressions after everything arrives and has had a chance to burn in a bit.

"The new phone books here, the new phone books here"

Stratos Mono Extreme Specials and Candela are in the house.  The Candela is currently up and running through an old Carver M4.0t, while the Stratos' burn-in on a separate circuit.

So far, first impressions:  warmer, deeper sound stage, much fuller; less sterile than the old Carver CT-17 SS pre.  I like it!!!

I'm going to play the Candela through the Carver for a while then roll the mono extremes in and see the difference.

Once again, thanks to Klaus and Alex!!

Alex
thanks for the great work!!!

Do I need to reverse the speaker phase or not?

I am using my Forte I's (upgraded crossover caps from Bob Crites) with the Khartago amp and it sounds great, better than a tube amp that I have.  Enjoy your new gear.

Currently the amps are burning in on a separate circuit.  Plan to get them in this weekend.  I'm actually looking forward to the break-in.

First of all, congrats on the near gear...awesome!
Secondly, yeah, I'm interested in the answer to the above question too. I thought I remembered something about this from awhile back, but couldn't find it.
