F/S: One “fully loaded” (complete set of options, JISCO, etc.) Altmann DAC.  I feel that its reputation precedes it, so I won’t go into more detail here.  Condition is a 9+.  It’s been extremely well cared for.

Also included is a custom battery supply unit made by Vinnie Rossi at Red Wine Audio.  There was no way I was going to put a car battery in my living room (the missus would’ve KILLED me!!), so I had Vinnie make me a battery supply and custom cable that would pass the WAF factor with flying colors.

Price: SOLD + shipping.  PayPal add $50.  At today’s exchange rate, a new Altmann DAC runs over $2,200.  The battery supply alone cost over $200 on top of the Altmann DAC.

There’s one small issue with the battery – it is getting a little long-in-the-tooth, so it only powers the DAC for about 3 hours or so.  If you’re handy with a soldering iron (I’m not) or you know someone who is, you can replace the battery cheaply and away you go.  I consider the battery supply a nice ‘lil bonus for the handy DIYer.  Never compared this battery supply to the “standard” car battery, but never wanted to – this combo sounded too good for me to want to mess with it in any way.

If you don't want to replace the battery yourself, I believe that Vinnie would be willing to change out the battery for a cost.

Thanks for looking,  -dB

Hi DBurna,
I am interested in your Altmann DAC.  How long have you owned the DAC?  Is there any problem with the DAC?
Do you still have the original battery connection cable came with the DAC?  Do you know if the 5 year warranty is transferable?  Thanks.

If the Red Wine Audio battery supply becomes available, I would be interested in it.

Thanks,
Mike

IronLion, you've hit things on the head.  I know (and communicate with) the other seller and these decisions are not performance-related at all.  In my case, we are getting close to finalizing an international adoption, so I am streamlining my stereo system as a fiscal austerity measure.  Sometimes these things just happen.....synchronicity.

Wow.  A great deal.  I got my Altmann Attraction dac a couple of years ago before the dollar collapsed, and I'm sure glad I did.  It remains my system's prize jewel, along with my Don Allen tube preamp.  This dac is phenomenal.  I use a Yellowtop battery and typically go 2 months between recharges.  Whoever snags this is in for a treat.
