F/S: One “fully loaded” (complete set of options, JISCO, etc.) Altmann DAC. I feel that its reputation precedes it, so I won’t go into more detail here. Condition is a 9+. It’s been extremely well cared for.
Also included is a custom battery supply unit made by Vinnie Rossi at Red Wine Audio. There was no way I was going to put a car battery in my living room (the missus would’ve KILLED me!!), so I had Vinnie make me a battery supply and custom cable that would pass the WAF factor with flying colors.
Price: SOLD + shipping. PayPal add $50. At today’s exchange rate, a new Altmann DAC runs over $2,200. The battery supply alone cost over $200 on top of the Altmann DAC.
There’s one small issue with the battery – it is getting a little long-in-the-tooth, so it only powers the DAC for about 3 hours or so. If you’re handy with a soldering iron (I’m not) or you know someone who is, you can replace the battery cheaply and away you go. I consider the battery supply a nice ‘lil bonus for the handy DIYer. Never compared this battery supply to the “standard” car battery, but never wanted to – this combo sounded too good for me to want to mess with it in any way.
If you don't want to replace the battery yourself, I believe that Vinnie would be willing to change out the battery for a cost.
Thanks for looking, -dB
