I was going to ask Danny this, but I might as well add to the pool of knowledge here.
I'm a big fan of line source speakers. I have Martin Logans and I'm thinking of building LS9s.
I know a big issue with the Logans is the integration of a line source panel and a point source woofer. I suspect there are similar issues pairing any line source full-range speaker with a point source sub.
So my question is, could I build Danny's new subs as line source subs?
I know this wouldn't be cheap, as it would require multiple drivers and multiple amps (not to mention the materials cost, or the WAAF), but,
i. would this be worth it;
ii. how would I configure it, I know there's a formula for how many drivers in parallel and how many in series...; and,
iii. how could I build the cabinet, pressumably I'd have to do it as separate stacked boxes (maybe of two drivers per box) on top of each other?
Thanks for any and all tips.
