The Apple Airport Extreme Base Station is by far the best wireless router I've ever used. It works equally as good with Macs and PCs. It also supports 802.11 a/b/g/n.
How well does the extreme base station run with a Squeezebox? Are there any issues?
I have used an Airport Extreme Base Station for my home network for over a year. It handles both music and internet access.
I have 2 Squeezeboxes that work fine wireless. The base station is on my second floor, the main stereo is on the first floor and the other squeezebox is in my basement. The main interface I use to control the music is the browser based interface on a laptop.
I also have a 750G drive with my music library attached to the Airport Extreme Base Station via it's USB port. It works great. I have a Mac mini running the whole show and it has another 750G drive attached that I use for backup of the music library. Since I got my library loaded last May, I haven't used my Audiomeca transport much and it has not even been powere on since Christmas.
I love the simplicity of the Airport. Both Mac and PC can use the attached storage and it is reliable and robust (important when your intenet access is Wildblue statalite...). Well worth the money - it is the only wireless router I recommend to friends.
