in need of advice

Hi guys I'm having a problem with a diy preamp I recently acquired. The problem is in the phono stage of the preamp.I get maximum output from the left channel and very minute output from the right channel. So much so I have to turn the volume nob almost all the way up and even then I can barely hear anything through the specific channel.I swapped tubes in and out to verify it wasn't a tube going bad but that's the extent of my abilities.Any input as to what's wrong will be greatly appreciated.Regards derockster

What pre-amp are you using...or did you design one yourself? (I doubt the latter though given your situation.)
