These are simply some of the best monitors available. Incredible detail and clarity combined with the best bass you can get in a monitor design...which is not to say "merely ok" bass. These beauties have a tested F3 of 37Hz (with the included megawoofers) and I personally had in-room response of -3db at 30Hz. This is possible because of the custom Neodymium Ribbon midrange panel that covers from 166Hz to 6.9 MHz and Fast-Swinging Ribbon tweeter that takes care of the rest. That frees up the custom woven carbon-fiber 6.5 inch "megawoofer" that VMPS is famous for to produce low, tight, and clean bass...there is also the fact that these are nearly 2 cubic feet of speaker per cabinet (no replacement for displacement after all). Even better, both the midrange and the tweeter are adjustable so that you can tweak the overall sonic palette to your tastes and your room - you'll never have to worry about laser precision that could fatigue you or a dark, veiled sound that makes you wonder what details you're missing. Simply find your "sweet spot" and enjoy the music. Speaking of sweet spots, VMPS pioneered (and patented) the constant directivity waveguide. This expands the sweet spot into a very large sweet zone - no more "beaming" from ribbons. That incredibly wide midrange also means that you get the critical midrange where 80% of the music is completely uninhibited by any crossover.

With these upgrades, the speakers are worth over $3000 new.
They are in flawless condition and come from a kid / pet / smoke-free home. There is a 1-inch scuff on one of the waveguides that is only visible when the light hits it the right way...not a scratch mind you, just a scuff. I also have the original fabric grills. I do not have the original box but will overpack them for safe shipping (including covering the tweeter to protect the ribbon). Pictures available upon request.
Finally, I have a pair of custom black steel stands with a floating plate design. They are 23-24 inches tall, customized with the adjustable spikes. These are amazing stands that cost over $600 - I can include them for $200 if you are alright paying the shipping for them as well. They are about 50 lbs each. Of course local pickup would be best for the speakers and / or stands.
