Hi,

Is anyone using the BEHRINGER F-Control Audio FCA202, 24-Bit/96 kHz FireWire Audio Interface?  or can  anyone make any comments about this. Seems like a  simple solution - just plug and play on a Mac, but concerned  that it is so cheap that it surley cannot compete with the better ones out there?

Anyone care to comment on this?

Thanks - form someone who is trying to learn about these things

I wanna know about this device too. I have heard that they use a pretty good true-24-bit DAC in both the USB version and this one. Was considering the M-Audio "Audiophile" Firewire until I heard that a single improper (ie, without ejecting) disconnect could PERMANENTLY disable your firewire port. No thanks! Don't know if other FW soundcards like this unit carry the same risk.

Bump

I am investigating if this unit would be more than nice ( modded with a PaulHynes designed pws components, and modded further by audiosmile.co.uk to make stellar LP ( vinyl) conversions to a PC hdd?
turntable-->phono pre-->FCA202-->firewire IN laptop
anybody?

Depending on how much the additional mods cost, it may open up more options (Apogee, RME, etc).

forgot to mention it is for a Windows laptop. If i had a mac i would buy the Duet for this purpose
the clock upgrade and paul Hynes supply are world class and will not be found under 1500 dollar interfaces and even then..

I recently acquired one of these:

more flexibility than required for basic computer audio playback, but since when has too many features been a real problem?  :lol:
