1. Get my Behringer DEQ2496 modded, in the system, and room/speaker calibrated.
2. Buy more music
3. Attend RMAF 2008

Much like Jeff the Tone pub, I want to take inventory of all all my music and gears here and abroad.  I am not buying another thing until I know what I got.  :o

In 2007 we built a whole new set, right down to 2 pair Telefunken 801s'. I don't need to look or think about ANY equipment for quite awhile. I'm filtering AudioCircle down to 3 circles, AVA, SALK, and the Music, and spend any extra time listening and also searching out new music.

Listen more with my kids.
Trade, not buy!
Get more music on my PC, for Slimserver use.
To continue to help others discover this fun game.
But a classical guitar, and make some actual music in my house sometimes too.

1. Buy alot less gear and much more music.

2. Listen to my MP3 player more.  Spending time with the MP3 makes me realize it's more about the music and its message should be well communicated through any decent sound source, if not then I don't need to listen to it. Plus the MP3 player for me makes music an active experience that a home audio rig, which seems more passive by comparision, can't begin to match.  The kids are getting it right, some of us old guys are missing out.  Forget recreating the musical event, take that same music and mix it with your real life events "out' in the world and create an entirely new experience.

3. Try vinyl again (but inexpensively and not fussy)

4. Dust off the keyboard and learn to play a bit and try to compose a basic love song for my wife as part of her 2008 Christmas gift.

5. Less sports talk radio and more music radio.

1. Rip all my CDs onto my Hard Drive, and tag them properly.
2. Save up enough money to make a downpayment on a house, so that i can finally have a good audio room! 8) :thumb:
3. -L-I-S-T-E-N- to music.

Move all of the distractions (computer, video, but not the piano) away from the main audio gear so I can use it without an argument from the kids.

1. Stop all this floundering and actually buy components I'm looking at

2. Catalogue and possible sell leftover tube inventory

3. Get a lot of Beethoven symphony stuff

4. Listen to the music I've bought and haven't opened

Hey SET Man looking at your picture gallery you look like a bit of a biker. I use to race cross-country mountain bikes but not now as I don’t have enough time.

Nice Klein you have there, I have a Cannondale Killer V2000 and Specialized Rock Hopper sport. I use to do 50 miles a day back and forth to work.

I was in New York for the first time in December 2007 for work. I think I recognise some of the places you took your pic’s would I be correct in saying Brooklyn Bridge? I did a lot of walking around while I was in New York. I come from the England.

Chris

Hey!

Yes, I like to do some riding but mostly for fun and recreation. Not 50 miles a day to work, I take the Subway to work.

Yes, the bridge in the photo of my bike is the Brooklyn Bridge.  Still in use since it opened in 1883! :o A modern marvel if you ask me. :D

I need to get out more with my bike and do some riding for sure. :D

Anyway, Chris if you ever find yourself in NYC again drop me a line, you are welcome to listen to my system and I will take you to the best Thai restaurant in NYC of which is not far from my place here in Queens. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

I'm starting my second year in this hobby.  Based on what I learned last year my resolutions are:

1.  Be more deliberate/less impulsive with future purchases, taking as much time as needed to make educated decisions.
2.  Concentrate more on learning audio principles from these threads.  There's tons of good info here.  This will help with #1.
3.  Figure out the WAF thing.  I need new speakers and this is going to be a real challenge.

Concentrating on the joys of music rather than the system per se!

Boy . . lot of good intentions here.  Mine is to bring all my albums home from storage.  I've forgotten many of the titles I own.  Some are pretty rad tho, I know that.
