New Line From GIK Acoustics
« on: 14 Dec 2007, 03:30 pm »
GIK Acoustics is proud to announce the newest addition to our product line - the Elite series.

These products off the same great performance you've come to expect from GIK but wrapped up in a furniture grade package for better integration into non-dedicated spaces.  The frames are solid maple and a variety of stains are offered to match your decor.  Also, GOM FR701-2100 is standard on the Elite series.  We've also added one of the patterned Guilford fabrics as an option for an additional $10 per panel.

Our initial offerings are the Pillar and the 242 Elite.  Both will begin shipping January 1, 2008.  As an introduction, we're offering a discount on preorders for the 242 Elite between now and January first at $139 each (ships 2 to a box).

242 Elite in Walnut stain with Deep Burgandy GOM

242 Elite in Cherry Stain with Bone GOM

242 Elite in Blonde Maple with Silver GOM

Pillar

Congrats Bryan and Glenn! They look great.  :thumb:  Mine are attractive in your previous "upgrade" fabric, but not as nice as these. It does make a big difference in what is allowed in the living room. Great idea!

Potentially.  We're still working out exactly what we want to do with that, how it impacts shipping containers, etc.

BTW, I just posted a pic to the pillar - will get a different one in a bit since that one is linked to a different forum  :nono:

The Pillar Bass Trap Elite is going to sell for around $280.00ISH  :green:  and all GOM (the 7 we have) fabrics will be standard pricing. Also it is the same maple wood as the GIK 242 Elite so any 3 of the stains can be ordered

I want to thank all the guys that where part of the round table meeting (drinks at the bar :green:) we had at RMAF. You guys where the ones that talked us into putting out a product like this.

Honestly I think I like the look of the standard traps better.  Something about having massive black panels all around a room just screams real HT.

The pillar on the other hand...that looks phenomenal.  Maybe you could cut it in half and make it twice as deep and it would make a sweet endtable.

I agree the standard panel still to me rocks and hey for the price it DOUBLE rocks. But some people like a nice wood look on the sides. The best part is, WE SERVICE ALL to your taste. :notworthy:

Sir, can you please wait until it hits the market before you say what we SHOULD do to them?   Just kidding. It is comments like yours that trigger us to do new things so I "like the way you think" :thumb:

Your new panels are very nice but how about a Christmas special on your standard panels.  :D

Yes, except make it retroactive for the four I ordered yesterday.  :P  Just kidding... from what I can tell, the prices are fair.

I can't wait to get those panels.  Glenn was very accommodating and quickly answered my questions.  Thanks for the help!  :thumb:

Those panels are simply drop dead gorgous.  :D You're going to have all your past customers kicking themselves.  It wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of GIK panels for sale at A'gon in the near future. I personally think this was a smart move to make your panels more wife-friendly.  :thumb:

Congrates guys.

Glenn,

I simply love how GIK Acoustics has really ventured out to offer a wide variety of panels with cosmetic appeal to match ones interior space. One of the greater banes of this stuff is that effective as poor-mans acoustic solutions may be, purdy they sure ain't. Some will never accept having any treatments in their home - but the stuff you've been offering for the past year...and continue to release... lends itself to a wider audience. Kudos!

I personally dig the old look as it can be manipulated into a room due to its lack of defined edges. However, the pillar...  man....  I don't think I can fight that one. :)

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Glenn and I don't look at this new series as a replacement by any means.  It's just a different look for those who want/need it.  The original series IMO is still the leader in performance/cost in the market today.  Our design goals were to offer the same great performance in a package that would be more widely accepted in non-dedicated residential spaces - and to do so as reasonably as possible.

We're not going to rest on our laurels though.  There are additional products under discussion.  Don't think they'll be any time soon but you never know.  If there's enough demand for something, we'll continue to do our best to provide what people want.

Hey Mike,

Each panel weighs around 20 pounds. BTW I replaced all of my panels in my own room with the Elite ones and Ines made a comment how nice they look with the ACI speakers we have aa. I tried to take some pictures but they did not come out right for some reason. Once I get them done I will send them to you.

Hey, Glenn, looking forward to those photos. Do the new panels come supplied with a means of hanging on a wall? And or, would it be beneficial to stagger them out from the wall?
