Would it be possible for you to burn a copy of the cd and compare it to the original cd and report back? One explanation that makes sense to me is that, since cd's are stamped just as an lp is, variations can occur during the same production run. This is especially true since, in order to save money, the plants usually run the stampers well past their (as I understand it) life span of 100k pressings, usually closer to 300k!
I'd be real appreciative if somebody could confirm this as true or totally off track!
