I have truly enjoyed the fully Bolder modded squeezebox that I have added to my system. It really sounds great both using the analog as well as digital out through a Lite DAC-60.
However, recently I have had some wireless issues with dropped signals. My squeezebox is only two rooms away from a brand new intel based imac, but I still only get a signal strength of ~30%. The dropouts have gotten so bad, even despite attempts to limit the bit rate of the music being spooled to the Squeebox, but with no real change in the drop out problem. I had to use a workaround by hooking up an airport express up to the squeezebox via ethernet and thus, the system is still wireless, but the airport express is being used as a wireless bridge. (

I can't think of anything else, as the airport express appears to solve the issue even using lossless bit rate streaming. I would like to hear if anyone has had a similar experience??
As I bought the squeezebox as a way of bridging the gap between my computer where all of my music now lives (as I have gotten rid of many of my redbook CDs), I might have approached this a little different, if I knew that I could not use the squeezebox wirelessly (but needed an ethernet connection). Looks like I will be buying a mac mini in the future to hook up to my squeezebox!!!
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Anyone using an external antenna setup with the squeezebox?? (
