6B-SST Heat
« on: 5 Oct 2007, 02:44 pm »
Hi,

I have just taken delivery of my new 6B-SST, what a great sound!

I have a quick question, when i demoed the 4B-sst the side heatsinks only got luke warm.

The 6B heatsinks are running alot hotter, can someone confirm this is normal?

Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard,

As long as the heatsink does not get too hot to touch then your OK. The 6B will run hotter than the 4B because you have 3 full channels of 300 watts in one chassis. Also each amplifier is bias independently in final checkout so there will be temperature differences from amp to amp.
