Can you join L/R outputs of preamp safely

Just like the title says. I'd like to combine Left and Right channel outputs from my preamp to one input on an amplifier. Is there any issue here? Thanks in Advance!

Depends on the preamp but it's most likely not a good idea. You would want at a minimum a resistor on each output (say 10k).

Thanks for your help. Fortunately it dawned on me I can do this with my Behringer crossover.
