I'm looking forward to hearing your gear, and having my negative pre-conceptions squashed
Turbo, no worries about your preconceptions. I think you'll find my main rig is really easy to listen to. Since I use a Lowther for 150Hz and up, I think you'll find it is a really nice sounding (and detailed and natural) arrangement. As you've probably read, Lowthers are very directional with a small sweet spot so don't judge too harsh until you get the 'good' seat. The treble does roll off on these drivers at around 12-14k though. I don't use a super tweeter but there is still plenty of 'air' and 'shimmer' to the sound. Oh, and there is no lacking for bass in the system with my 15's. I really think you will like the sound, most people do. It's quite different...but quite good too.
I've never even heard a really good vinyl setup. I'll do my best to listen with an open mind
If I ever get around to purchasing my tickets, I should be in town for a few days around the 29th. Mind if an out-of-towner stops by for a bit? Also depends upon how far along I get on my "honey do" list though.
You can lug 'em over to my place if you want. I'd love to hear them in my room. Still breaking in an amp and the statement SB3 but by the 29th, they should have close to 500 hours on them.Bryan
