All,

I have been receiving emails about preordering the new Signature 30.2 and emails about modding the Signature 30 to the 30.2.

For preordering of a new Signature 30.2 - I will be building and shipping units in the order in which I receive preorders (full payment upfront).  I am now taking pre-orders!  8)

For sending in your Signature 30 to be modded to a Signature 30.2 - Again, I will be modding units in the order in which I receive them.  The "Partial Upgrades" can begin in about 2 weeks.  Please contact me privately to schedule this in.  I want to be able to give my Signature 30 customers a quick turn-around time (within 1 week of receiving your Signature 30), but as we get closer to Signature 30.2 production time, things are going to get VERY busy and it is a good idea to have me schedule in your mod and let you know when the best time to ship it to me is so you won't have to wait long to have it finished.

Please EMAIL me (not audiocircle PM) at vinnie@redwineaudio.com with questions, pre-orders, the scheduling of mods, etc.

Signature 30.2 Pricing and Options

The Signature 30.2 will be available in two different configurations:

1) “Integrated Version” ($2500.00) with built-in precision stepped attenuator volume control by Goldpoint (www.goldpt.com) AND remote control unit.

2) “Power Amp Version” ($2100.00) will have no volume control and will require the use of an active preamp (e.g. The Isabella!  ) or passive preamp before it.  The front panel will not be machined for the volume control knob or remote control sensor window, but otherwise will look identical to the Integrated Version of the Signature 30.2

Upgrade options for Signature 30 owners to convert to the Signature 30.2

I consider it very important to offer upgrade options to all my loyal Signature 30 customers.  This way, they will not be forced to sell their Signature 30 in order to obtain a Signature 30.2.  I also realize that for some, the only upgrade to their Signature 30 that they are interested in is obtaining the new Signature 30.2 sound, OR, they just do not have the budget to go "all-the-way" at this time to a Signature 30.2.  As a result, I am offering two upgrade options for Signature 30 customers (no matter if you purchased your Signature 30 from Red Wine Audio, a Red Wine Audio dealer, or on the used market).

1) “The Partial Upgrade” – This will consist of performing ALL of the changes to the amplifier board to convert it to the new Signature 30.2 amplifier, as well as the new hard-wiring of the speaker outputs directly to the point-to-point wired new output filter components.  This upgrade also includes the installation of the new input signal capacitors.  After this upgrade, your Signature 30 will sound identical to the new Signature 30.2.  This upgrade service will cost $500.00 + return shipping

2) “The Complete Upgrade” – This consists of the following:

a) New front and rear panel installation along with the new knob, posts, jacks, etc.
b) SMART module installation
c) Amplifier board upgrades

After The Complete Upgrade, your Signature 30 will be fully converted to the Signature 30.2… They will look identical, sound identical, and have identical features.  This upgrade service will cost $1000.00 + return shipping.

Availability of the new Signature 30.2 and upgrade services

1) We anticipate the start production of the Signature 30.2 in early-October of this year (just weeks away!).  Please keep in mind that there is always the chance of delays in getting parts from our vendors, but even if there was an unexpected delay, it should not be substantial.

2) Regarding upgrades, The Partial Upgrade will be able to be performed in approx 2 weeks (mid-September).  The Complete Upgrade will not be available until the time we going into production of the Signature 30.2 (see above).

Thanks again for all your interest and support!

UPDATE:

I have all the parts in stock to perform the "Partial Update" on Signature 30 units.  :hyper:

Now is a great time to send in your Signature 30 if you are interested in this upgrade, as production of the Signature 30.2 as well as the "Full Upgrade" service to Signature 30s in on schedule for late September / early October and this will affect lead-times for the upgrade.

Right now, my turn-around time for the partial upgrade is approx. only 1 week!   8)

Just to recap:

“The Partial Upgrade” – This will consist of performing ALL of the changes to the amplifier board to convert it to the new Signature 30.2 amplifier, as well as the new hard-wiring of the speaker outputs directly to the point-to-point wired new output filter components.  This upgrade also includes the installation of the new input signal capacitors.  After this upgrade, your Signature 30 will sound identical to the new Signature 30.2.  This upgrade service will cost $500.00 + return shipping

Here are the goals that I set out to achieve in terms of sonic improvements:

a) A warmer, and more seductive sound signature
b) Greater dimensionality
c) Added bass weight
d) Sweeter top end
e) Richer tone, without sacrificing any PRaT

Simply put, I wanted to obtain an even more musical and more SET-like sound in the midrange and top-end, and a weightier “push-pull” sound in the bass.

Lovers of tone and musicality (lovers of what a well-designed tube amp can do) will LOVE the new sound that the Signature 30.2 offers compared to the Signature 30.  However, just like the Signature 30, the Signature 30.2 ventures into territories that SETs simply can’t compete in such as the ability to drive less efficient speakers (power!), ultra-black background (going off-the-grid with SLA battery power), dynamics, bass control and articulation, etc.

Thanks again,

Vinnie
