I used to be a sub hater and never found the right sub to mate with the speakers. The old recommended sub page from the old site had nothing on it. I finally decided to have a hemp sub driver made and it’s specific to reproducing bass and nothing else. I then decided it had to be very fast. The result is a critically aligned sealed box and the new 8” Deephemp driver. The sub is very fast goes deep and the cabinet is dead quiet. I also tried it with a set of Lowther PM2As (custom order) in a sealed box for the Pass First watt amp. The sub stayed with this combo too. The sub will be available in all the finishes I offer and look great matched. I will also have a special to AC and Omega customers. The sub is $900 on special in any of the finishes and I will have combos too. I do have pics and need Vinnies help to post them. A lot more about the sub will be on the site very soon. I have to build a few more in different finishes. Would it be a bad idea to stack a speaker on top of a sub? I couldn't help but notice that the DeepHemp is the same height as my speaker stands.
Vinnie,Thanks for the reply. My next question may be one that only Louis can answer. I have a pair of Super 3 Bipoles their dimensions are 20” H x 11”W x 14”D and the dimensions of the DeepHemp are 20" tall x 14" wide x 11.5" deep. The height of the sub is perfect for one to sit beneath each Bipole. If the subs were turned sideways (90 deg.), then there would only be a .25" overlap of the sub on each side, which would work fine for me. The question is...can the deep hemps be configured with their amps on the 11.5" side as opposed to the 14" side, so as to allow one to stack the Omega Super 3 Bipoles atop the DeepHemps and have the subs appear to be facing the right direction? I hope the question is not confusing. Thanks, Brett
Jonathan, Dude way too much math , I get what your thinking though, the Law of Diminishing Returns as applied to audio. My take on the whole thing is budget and preference. Currently I'm revamping my whole system, and the same question arose for me too. There were some products that were less money, but just weren't what I was looking for. So I bit the bullet shined up the Visa and let it rip Hopefully the marriage will survive, if not I'll have one smokin' system .Brett, Louis is currently building me a pair of Compact Hemp's to sit on top of two Deep Hemp's. We will be powering the Deep Hemp's with one plate amp that will be in a separate enclosure, away from the Deep Hemp's. The Deep Hemp's will have binding posts installed out of the back. I'll be able to put the plate amp enclosure in a cabinet and run just two pair of speaker wire to the Deep Hemp's. This will cut down on the amount of wires running to the Deep Hemp's. This also helped to offset the cost slightly, for only one plate amp will be used. When Louis is back, up and running give him a call, he is easy to talk to and thought that this set up was a good idea. Vinnie, We should all be as fortunate to have a friend like you.Rodge

Simplicity was the reason I went with one amp and not two, only one gain control and not two seemed easier to work with.
