I agree with Vtech2000.
I admit that I don't know anything about capacitor construction, but it's not obvious to me that exposure to organic solvent vapors for a few hours/days (after a while, the VOCs will migrate back out into the atmosphere) is worse than the temperature pulse (asymmetrically applied, so if there are temperature-based structural relaxations, they won't be the same on all sides of the cap) that you get when you use hot melt.
When I can, I try to use Velcro or nylon tie-downs. If that doesn't do it, I use Liquid Nails sparingly.
