Ooooooo – Just what I want. Web surfing and YouTube on a 4” screen with a really slow connection. You know AT&T’s unlimited wireless is really slow! Its not broadband wireless or even as fast as a slow DSL, it’s closest to a plain old 56k dialup.
FWIW, the iPhone is also wi-fi enabled, so you can use it in a hotspot to surf the web. And eventually, AT&T's data plan will get faster...NY Times ran a "review" of it in the Business section and said that the browser on it is actually quite good (the review overall was positive...it was titled "The iPhone Matches Most of Its Hype"...)http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/27/technology/circuits/27pogue.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin
all I can say is this thing is the most amazing piece of integrated hardware/software engineering I have seen to date.wow! The iPhone is totally redifining what people think of regarding mobile devices...
So how is the iPhone TOTALLY redefining what people think of regarding mobile devices? I have no idea, please clue me in. ...And the most important questions? Do you own a Mac and/or do you consider yourself a Mac-head. I need to know that first, its important.
Doesn't do much new, but the interface is slick enough that it will appeal to regular people, not just the business folks. It's a cool gadget. Once the price hits around $400, it'll be a great alternative to the blackberry and treo.
alas, having used the darn thing now for 2 days it's absolutley astounding.
The iPhone is so vastly superior in every way to anything currently available that it's high time someone starts asking serious questions at Microsoft/Nokia/RIM/Sony-Ericsson, etc... what those companies do with billions in R&D is beyond me.

Has anyone seen the LG KE850?? LG already invented the iPhone and released it months before Apple and is already available in France, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, United Kingdom, Kuwait and South Korea.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aLOGUQouUI&mode=related&search=Why has this significant fact been overlooked? Why is Apple once again claiming to have invented the ?-mark when its clear they haven’t?
Look again and read about it. Its anything but typical. It uses a Linux OS that is VERY similar to the OSX version that’s on the iPhone. The maker of the screen and internal components IS THE VERY SAME maker that is manufacturing the iPhone for Apple.
Unfortunately the same does not hold true for the mac enthusiast. They are a mutated breed of human all of their own that will do and say and think whatever Apple makes is best.
I suggest that you define to yourself what you need, vs. having the media define it for you.Phone = phone calls. Simple, no?Email = others expecting instant response to inane crap.Music = absolutely essential, but do you need your phone to manage your music?Video = on a 2 inch screen. WTF!Camera = how often can I remove myself from the moment to capture it and "share" it with others that don't really give a rat's ass.C'mon Dude....get a $20 cell phone and enjoy your life.
