Hello Audiophiles,

I'm thinking about running a special for a limited time on Nagys Audio interconnect cables. So here is the deal. I will be selling these cables at a super low price, however they will not have the fancy jackets, logos, or packing materials. Original price was $600 per meter pair, I will now sell them at $150 per pair with shipping and handling included within United States. Additional length is $50 per meter pair.

I will need at least 10 orders before I will run this batch. If any of you are interested, please respond here on Audio Circle. If you need specs, please visit my website at www.nagysaudio.com

This just might be the deal of a lifetime!

Thanks!
Norbert

Hi Norbert,

A $600 dollar cable, and you are willing to sell at $150, is that your material cost? 600 bucks is quite an inflated price. I know here on the circle there are other vendors who have high priced cabled like this one. How is the price justified? I'm certainly not knocking your cables at all,but the price tag, I have a problem with. In all honesty, I'm opened minded.

It sounds to me that for $600.00 you get the fancy jackets, logos, and packing materials.

Will there be a trial period?

Hi All,

I'm charging $150 for my time and the time of the people who work for me. It's not easy running a company, no matter how small it is. I have quite a bit of bulk wire and connectors, but only for the interconnect cables. I have been making quite a few of them (at no charge) to send out to different magazine reviewers, hopefully we will see some reviews soon. Since I have some left over materials, I figured I'd make some cables for you guys. Hopefully if you like it, you will spread the word. I would like to start some good word of mouth, this is a wonderful product. That's all.

Thanks again,
Norbert

Hi Norbert

$150 versus $600, quite a gap. I do understand about having to run a company.

Now you nemtioned that you need 10 orders of which amount? the $150 or $600? You didn't state which way. Maybe, when one of those cables from the mags or manufacturers comes back, maybe set up a tour to let people try them out. Just a Thought.

10 pairs at the $150 price would be nice, but there's always exceptions to the rule. I'm still thinking about doing the tour or trial period. I'm not sure how to go about it. It would be fine with me, so long as you guys pay shipping both ways and maybe leave a review somewhere on the net.

There you go. I suggest you guys setup a tour schedule. Give a sayy a 10% discount to the one who bought it. What do you guys think?

Anyone else interested?

Hi, Yes, I am interested, but I have to wait til I have some extra money to play with. Hopefully that will be in very short order.

Can you  email me with some general info how the cables are constructed? Not looking for your secret at all. Just looking at the better cables, and seeing how they are constructed.

Hi Mr. Bronk,

Thanks for your interest. Have you had a chance to check out my website yet? It's www.nagysaudio.com
I have a lot of information on there regarding construction and principle. There's also pictures of the cables, including a picture of the raw coax cable that I use.

Thanks again!

There's pictures of the full retail version under the Nagys Audio Interconnect Cables, they have black nylon jackets. If you look under Technology, there's a picture of the raw coax cable, it is pale blue. It will look just like that, but with the RCA plugs on it.

Hi Norbert,

I'll check out your site again, but since I am totally blind, can't see your pics. That's why I ask for general info on their construction.

Basically my goal was to use the finest parts available in the world right now. I use the absolute highest quality coax cable, manufactures for aerospace and defense systems, where signal integrity is of the utmost importance.

This coax cable has a solid center conductor, made of extremely pure oxygen free coper. It is then silver plated and laser polished. Remember, this cable cannot have any surface imperfections, it has a frequency range of up to 28 GHz! It then has a Teflon dielectric (low density, almost like a paste!), which is surrounded by a flat copper braid, also silver plated. Then there's a special gold foil, followed by a round braided copper shield, which is silver plated as well. And a Teflon outer jacket.

Connectors are machined out of an alloy, then silver plated and lastly gold plated. The connector dielectric, is solid Teflon. These are special connectors designed for a coax cable. They are part pressure fit and part solder, I will not give away the technique I use to attach the multiple shields, etc. These connectors are then epoxy potted and super glued. I use special silver solder designed to precision electronics.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Norbert,

Why not use tekflex instead of Nylon? Nylon tubing isn't very flexible. Also, looking for good solder, if not giving away secrets, what solder do you guys use to make up the cable?

Why do you say nylon is not flexible? The sleeves I use are extremely soft, almost like cloth, but they have a very nice silky feel to them.

I use special solder which is used for precision electronics in laboratories which make defense systems, i.e. fighter jet parts, etc. I special order my solder from Russia. Most people just use Kester solder 63/37, which is very decent! That's what I would recommend for anyone starting out. Ignore the expensive so called audiophile solder, unless you want to throw away your money.

Ha, ha. I just looked up Techflex online and they are nylon sleeves. Identical to the sleeves I use. Except that my supplier calls them nylon sleeving.

Hi Norbert,

I was thinking about the standard Teflon tubing. Sorry about that.

As far as the solder goes, doesn't anybody sell this Russian solder. What's so special about it? The standard Kesler solder in about a year or two will be outlawed due to the Rhoe? compliance factor. People are trying to get away from lead in their solder. And so am I.
