Hi,
Since I've upgraded the SP1.7 to the SP2, it runs super hot.
Over 50 degrees Celsius / 122 F, without even playing, just powered up...
At the point that it reaches a temperature above 45-50 degrees Celsius, the pre-amp starts to do very funny things.
Like resetting when switched to 5.1 bypass, or increasing volume to 100%, or the opposite 0%, (the volume motor is running until the reset is finished).
I can tell you that maximum volume is really scary... almost exploding loudspeakers
The pre-amp went a few times back to Canada, but they were unable to fix the problem, new board and software, etc. was done, but the problem remains...
At this moment I'm almost embarrassed to send it in again, Last year it spend more then 3 months in the repair dept.
But, now with the new summer, the problem appears more frequent. I found that the pre-amp is about 20-25 C (or 45 F) higher then room temperature. The SP2 is standing on a shelf with enough space around it to let it cool, according to the manual (10 cm above no side panels).
I hope someone can help me with this problem.
