Any ideas where to take my wife and 9 year-old son? I have a few places in mind but am open to suggestions. Thanks!

Well for your son I think they just re-opened the Children's Museum which is perfect for a 9yr old but it is indoors so for a rainy day

For food it helps to know if you are going to be IN Boston or North South etc but here is a quick run down.
Cheap Seafood casual: Barking Crab (close to the museum) http://www.barkingcrab.com/
Better Casual seafood: Summer Shack http://www.shackfoods.com/ (get the pan roasted lobster)
Other Seafood: King Fish Hall http://www.toddenglish.com/Restaurants/Kingfish.html (Todd English makes some tasty stuff plus right in Quincy Market)

Stay away from Legal and Turners.  There is MUCH better

If you are out of the city a bit and want a schwanky meal you CANNOT beat Ming's Blue Ginger

Thanks for your help. We'll be staying in Waltham so if there's anything (attractions or places to eat) close to there let me know. I imagine we'll spend a day or two in the city.

Since you will be in Waltham you should go to The Summer Shack Cambridge location for seafood.  All you have to do is hop back on 95N for a few exits and take Route 2E till the end.  Very easy but DO NOT ATTEMPT DURING RUSH HOUR!!!!  This is also a great option because it is right at the last stop on the RedLine which will zip you right into Boston/Cambridge and gives you the option of hitting Harvard sq.

Sorry we didn't get to meet. I had a great time setting up the system - two arrays with Scan-Speak 7" Revelators / Fountek ribbons and dual sub towers - four 10" Revelator aluminum cone drivers per side driven with 1000-watt amps. Serious bass, deep and detailed with effortless slam.

I'll post some pictures when I return back to NC. Right now I'm recovering from the fireworks last night 

We stood for three hours on the bridge between Boston and Cambridge watching the fireworks. Except for the rain it was a great time and the show was excellent. Now back to reproducing those 1812 cannon shots and the right angle grooves on the Telarc recording...
