I also have on order:

Sasha - San Francisco
Sasha - Ibiza
Satashi Tomeii - Nubreed
Steve Lawler - Nubreed.

Have you listened to John Digweed - Los Angeles? IMHO, his best individual (without sasha) mix. Deep and dark, like no other CD I own is the best way to describe it.

What I really am after is Sasha and Digweed - Renaissance Vol 1, but its out of print and I am not paying $AU400 for a second hand copy on Ebay  :o

Also picked up:

Jack Johnson - On and On

Let me/us know what you think of this album once you get a chance to give it a good listen. Thanks! :)

Had much of the system taken apart lately, so most listening has been in the car -- sorry the delay...  Actually really enjoying this album and the recording sounds good, better than the first...but remember that's an eval off car stereo.  Enough catchy songs that don't lean too, too far towards pop.

Only new purchases I believe was the 3-CD Live Ween CD..

Thanks for the thoughts! :) I can understand about the system..I'm still waiting for a couple shipments to partially "complete" my system. Please let me know how it sounds once you get your system back together. I'm beginning to hate taking chances on purchases (regarding sound quality) these days. As is, once my system is together, I'm going to start going through and separating the good from the bad...

have been really busy buying CD's of late. Walked into my favorite pawnshop that sells CD's @ $5\ea. Well I loaded up 16 CD's went to the desk and waved a $50 in the guys face and walked out with 16 CD's that went anywhere from $7-$11 used anywhere else.

Some notables:
2 Creeds besides "Prisoner"
Sarah Mclaclan-2
CHicargo soundtrack
Korn-3 cd's
Cranberry's
Replacements

Some more ,but they were all good in condition and quality of picks!

Picked three Ceedees up in the village this weekend at my favorite little music shop (Sounds on St. Marks).

Massive Attack - 100th Window  ...I'm kinda dissapointed, it sure doesn't seem up to snuff with their first three releases.  Could be a grower but I am not getting that vibe.  Doesn't have that funk of their previous releases

Pete Yorn - The Day I Forgot ...I haven't decided yet, kinda mixed at the moment

The White Stripes - Elephant   :thumb:  Very good and IMO might be their most rockin out CD yet.  very much dig this alb

Bryndle (by Bryndle) CD
This has become one of my favorites.  Well produced, kind of folk music in a Bonnie Raitt sort of way.  Multiple guitars are very clean.  All four members of the group, who are very talented on their own, have a wonderful synergism as they come together.  *Recommended*

Burgers (by Hot Tuna) CD
Live from North Café (by Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett) CD

I coincidentally picked up both of these lately.  Hot Tuna was kind of a stripped down Jefferson Airplane (with the addition of the blues violin player Papa John Creach).  Paul and Fred were (are?) part of little Feat - so here we have another stripped down off-shoot of a pop band.

I also have the Hot Tuna CD on vinyl.  I still enjoy it very much, partially for nostalgia, but it still stands up OK.  David Crosby does a cameo appearance on one of the cuts.

I heard an off-the-cuff recording a friend of mine had made of Paul and Fred when they came over to his house (!) and was so impressed that I bought the CD.  It is sort of like “Waiting for Columbus” – Unplugged.  Recorded in a Japanese night club, two tight busy guitars and familiar vocals (well, familiar if you know Little Feat). I like it.

The Eels, Shootenany
Love and Rockets, Best of
Nina Simone, Four Women: Nina Simone Phillips Recordings
Led Zeppelin, How The West Was Won

Will listen to anything that The Eels or E put out.  Enjoy bits of the album a lot, though I know a few tracks will need to grow on me first.

Love and Rockets I picked up for a vague memory of enjoying a single track...but had to have it.

Still haven't had a chance to listen to the entire Nina Simone set yet..  Still think her rendition of Feelin Good is one of the greatest things in the world.

Other than that, I've been flipping back and forth between the new Blur Album, and all of The Beta Band albums -- had forgotten how great they are.

Went to BestBuy to get the newest Gillian Welch, but they had sold their only copy, so I saw the T.a.T.u CD on sale and bought it.  Unfortunately, only the song I already knew, "All the things she said," was listenable let alone enjoyable so I took it to the used CD store and traded for Patricia Barber's "Verse."

Hi Folks this is my first posting on this site. Recently aquired the Complete Bitches Brew Sessions /Miles Davis. Totally out of this world listenning experience. The sound is way improved over the original double disc release, crisp, crisp, crisp...Also picked up a couple used disc from the local tower, Banco de Gaia's "Igizeh" and  Songs from the Northern Territories disc #2.  :!:

A quite summary of my latest purchases....

Steve Lawler - Lights Out. Its deep dark and tribal. It's minimalistic at best...very hard going, and I am not sure if I like it yet. My sort of music, but even I am finding this a little drawn out. Doesnt seem to be able to keep it moving as well as the only comparable CD in my collection (Digweed - Los Angeles, one of my all time best).

John Digweed - Bedrock. Very good, but showing its age. From 1999 it is somewhat dated, and doesn't have the "timelessness" of Northern Exposure.

Satoshii Tomeii - Nubreed. Better than I expected. Quite funky, but deep and dark. I like it.

Sasha - GU - San Fransisco. Very good, but again a bit dated. Still better than most of the new crap out there.

Deep Dish - Toronto. Not usually my sort of thing, as its a little closer to house than I usually prefer. Still contains some stunning tracks, but only time will tell as to whether it is a long term favourite.

Anyone pick up Annie Lennox's 'Bare' this week?  If so, any impressions?
