This is obviously a very subjective question but here are some of my  "best sounding" LPs.

The Great Reunion - Louis Armstrong & Duke Elington / 200 g vinyl

Relaxin with The Miles Davis Quintet (prestige 7129)

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd (pre 1973)

Recordings and pressings vary all over the place; but USUALLY Living Stereo; CTI; Pablo; and Alshire are good labels for jazz, classical, and semi classical. Some Columbia and Atlantic are awesome. Some suck.

FWIW...buy the music you like. It's still all about the music..

Hey!

Totally agreed with you there. I myself have a copy of the Classic Record's version. and it is beautiful.... musically and sonically

One of my all time favorite Jazz album. :D And this is an example of an analog vinyl at it best. :D

Those sound engineer back than truly deserve recognition and an big applaud!

Sadly 99.99% of sound engineers today only care about how the music will sound when it converted to MP3

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

I have Time Out on Columbia Records CS 8192. Don't know if it's an early pressing. Sounds good. Not one of my top 3 though.

Don't know if they are the best sounding LP's, per se...but they are grabbed often for enjoyment:

Horowitz (boxed set from The Classics Record Library)

The Killing Fields - Mike Oldfield

The Trinity Session - Cowboy Junkies
