Hey folks - it's been a long time since I've checked in with this thread. I'd like to offer my thanks to each and every one of you who have taken the time to caste in your suggestions. Obviously, we can't make everything happen, but it's always good to receive feedback from the community. Each suggestion helps to build up an idea on what YOU all would like to see covered. Unafraid to step into less than conventional territory, we look forward to more of your input! Keep it comin'!

Speakers..... B&W 685's and Infinity P162

kenreau

I recently picked up a Bolder Full Enthusiast SB3 and needed a new additional set of IC's to feed it to my preamp.

I had Ric at EVS mod a Sony 9000ES a few years back with great results and checked in on his website to see what's new.  Ric is offering these IC100 Interconnects for $95.  A minimal k.i.s.s. design that looked appealing, and the price is rightous.  I inserted these ic's and was absolutely floored!   The level of detail, deliniation of instruements, guitar picks on strings to shimmer of cymbals was amazing.  The old cliche of the veil being removed really applies here.  I had been using a home brew Kimber silver streak knock off that I had thought was more than reasonable util inserting this IC100.

Highly recommended, regardless of your budget.  For $95 they are a screaming bargain.

I've put in a request to David S. of Signal Path Int., the Peachtree distributor.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Morsnets,

Excellent list. I've owned the Audio Note AX-Two's, a set of Spendor SP 2/3P's, and the Vandersteen 2CE Signature's.  All excellent transducers in their own right.  :thumb:  I'm also 'on the list' for the new JMR Duet.  :D

I can cover the vintage, Polk Monitor 7 request. It was one of the 2 loudspeakers that catapulted Polk into mainstream audio, and out of the garage, moreso the late 1970's. Love it or hate it, for Polkies, it's a legend along the lines of the JBL L100, DQ-10 or K-Horn. That's a tall order but keep it in perspective.

Please ignore this if the products are too costly.

Duke LeJeune's $4500 Jazz Module floorstanding speakers (Bill Berndt here just bought a pair).  One of my favorites, super musical, 93 dB, Geddes waveguide technology, macho enclosures w/ great proportions.  Employ the Pioneeer TAD 11" woofers, estimated $700+ each MSRP!  www.AudioKinesis.com

Just heard Duke's $9k Dream Maker, a bipolar version of the above Jazz Module, 96 dB, highly recommended.  Lynn Olson picked them as his favorite (or one of three best) at RMAF:

Wouldn't mind seeing reviewed the $7500 SST Ambrosia preamp by James Bongiorno (voiced by Bascom King); its remote bass/treble controls w/ four xo poles each are splendid & musically transparent in use.  I think I prefer it to the $17k VTL & it may equal or beat the $15k Krell Evo.

Dorokusai:
My brother still has his Polk 7B's that he bought new, way back when.  if I get out to Denver this summer I'll take the time to write up a review on them.  BTW, being older and jealous I had to out do him by getting a pair of 10B's!

1. Any of the cottage industry stuff here at AC that doesn't get press otherwise.

2. Any of the cottage industry stuff not from AC that doesn't get press otherwise.

3. The new Squeezebox Duet.

4. Assembly it yourself speakers (like DIY Madisound or Parts Express kits).

5. Open baffle single driver speakers.

6. Raw/DIY cables.

7. Really inexpensive equipment racks (or looksome options).
