Scroll down to the section on the RM30's.  This is just a preview, the actual review follows in the next issue.

Do you think he likes them?

$45K?

He must have borrowed "my" ears for that "pre-review", since that is exactly what I hear too.

Way to Go, Brian.  VMPS does not get the press it deserves.

OBDURATE???

# S: (adj) cussed, obdurate, obstinate, unrepentant (stubbornly persistent in wrongdoing)
# S: (adj) flinty, flint, granitic, obdurate, stony (showing unfeeling resistance to tender feelings) "his flinty gaze"; "the child's misery would move even the most obdurate heart"

Somehow, that does not ring true about Brian.    :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Congrats Brian!.....what a great review....we all better get our orders in before the rush starts!!  :thumb:

Thanks John.  How did the "Meistersinger" go?

(Hint: John sang Kothner in the Met production this week).

I am sure obdurate does not describe Brian but it is a cool and unusual word none the less.

I hope this reviewer has the chance to listen to a stock pair of V60s.  I can only wonder what he would have to say then?  You should try to arrange that, although don't give him my pair :).

Dearest oh dearest Brian,
Do I have to come to your house to encourage you to do better next time?  Is that as good as you can fetch in the way of a professoinal pre-review these days?

Long time fans click to another thread.  For newcomers, VMPS has been garnering similar professional reveiw comments since only about the late '70s-early '80s.

Congratulations Brian!  Job well done!  What have you got up your sleeves for the next act?  Expectations remain high with several Super Bowl trophies in the glass display case of the luxurious lobby at The VMPS Plant!

Hi Brian,

It went well thanks!  The people seemed to really enjoy it, even though it is 6 hours long! :o :o

You should warn Jimmy about opening all those cuts.  They're made for a reason u-know!

On record the longest Meistersinger is Furtwaengler/Bayreuth at 297 minutes, the shortest Reiner at less than 240.  Solti hits a middle ground at 257.

Aside from the "roll call", what does Kothner sing?

Kotner also sings/reads the rules of the song contest to the tenor. :)

Does he participate in the riot?  Somebody has to beat up Beckmesser!
