Looking at a new TV sooner than I thought. Help!

I like what I saw in the store, TVauthority has it for $1075 with free shipping till midnight tonight and no tax! It is the size I want and from reading all the reviews. It seems like it will suit my needs.

WAIT! Before you order from TV Authority, check AVS Forum. Over the weekend I ran across a thread focused on TV Authority. It appears that the company's service has taken a real nose dive over the past several months, and there were several horror stories about credit cards charged and no goods shipped, etc.

Yeah I have been hearing/reading some horror stories about TV Authority poor customer service for quite a few months now, lots of complaints to the BBB where they are located. Be careful.

Thanks for the heads up guys, but I am taking my chances. I have read some good things about tvauthority.com and contacted them 2 times today without a hitch today! Very friendly and answered all my questions. Due to what you guys pointed out, I called again tonight, that's 3 times and talked to a guy named Tico. He gave me his email in case of problems, he has heard about the problems mentioned on AVS and said they had some issues. He also said to mention that I am a member of the AVS forum and he will also personally check on my order and try to expedite for me because of the above mentioned. I also mentioned that I am a member of AudioCircle and if this goes smooth, I will say good things on both sites!
That is a little pressure to do it right I hope. I could not pass up the price!

Well, I took the chance with TVAUTHORITY and it paid off for me! I received my Samsung HL-S4676S last night about 8pm. It was only 2 days later then promised because the freight company Mach 1 screwed up, not TVAUTHORITY.
I did send a note along with my order about the bad rap they have been receiving and I hope I am not to be included in that group. I received a call from Neil Kusens, president of TVAUTHORITY, super guy, told me about some of the things that have gone on in the last few months had how he was resolving these issues. He jump on the shipping company right away, but they already put in on a truck. It was suppose to be on a plane!
Being that my TV was only 2 days, (well 4 with the weekend), he threw in a 2 year extended warranty and 2 HDMI cables. I think that is super.
As far as I am concerned, I got the best deal on my TV I could find, with free shipping, a free extended warranty, some cables and great customer service.
I will most certainly buy from TVAUTHORITY again.
We also love our new TV. It is just what we wanted. I can’t wait for my digital service and my HDMI cables to arrive so I can hook up my DVD/CD player to the set.
