Thanks guys.

Vince Stancampiano of Electro Tech did a great job retaining the original design and thus preserving the "original" McIntosh sound.  I am not sure if it is fair to compare these amps to the newer and more sophisticated circuits of today.  I assure you, the MC-60s can hold it's own as far as soundstaging, imaging, coherency and detail.  It will make your speakers disappear!

BAT amp stays.  I don't think there is such thing as a perfect amplifier for every situation or every music.  This is a reality to me that I have to live with.  I may be in denial but I think this is a love and hate relationship with audio system in general. :)

Hopefully, I can setup for another rave meeting.  I have to work it out with the wife.

Vince is a great guy.  (631) 929-0926.

I think his price is reasonable not to mention his turn-around time is very fast.  A++ :thumb:

The price sounds decent to me and a fast turn around time is super-nice.  :D

However- Stay away from the glued down capacitors. That really devaluates the amplifiers by as much as the repairs are worth or more. New multi-section capacitors and high voltage radial lead capacitors can be purchased.

ygo, I am not familiar with the schematics.  You do know that they go by the serial numbers right?  If you are unsure, it is probably best to have a technician look at it.

Niteshade, I agree with you.  Please see picture of my MC60 after the rebuild, all I know for sure is it's reliable and sounds really good!

Here is another picture of my MC-60 tubes glowing in the dark.  The sound is truly nostalgic.  As if that it was placed in a time machine.
