I do have one 244 panel anchored between the ceiling and rear wall (behind center of couch).  A tad of it shows in the pic.  I have no problem buying more if you guys think it's worth a shot.

Thanks,

Mark

Yooper,
Hard to tell from the pics, but is there a wall/ceiling intersection above your center channel that's the same height as the one over your chair? I'm wondering whether it would be best to place the 45 degree wall/ceiling panel on the speaker side or the listening side of the room? Not saying it is, but Bryan, maybe you could chime in?

I also must sit close to the rear wall and I look at the wall/ceiling corner above me and think that it'd be a great place for a 45 degree panel as you have (I already have 3 242's vertically on the back wall that come within 18" of the celing, so the corner above my head is already somewhat treated, if not just interfered with). But then, I think that the opposite wall/ceiling intersection on the speaker wall (at the midpoint of the room) would really benefit, too!

I can see reasons why each approach would be good. Maybe both would be best!

Directly behind his head was one of the places we discussed as opposed to the straddling orientation.  Up front straddling the corner was also a consideration.

As you can see, the room is very short and non-symmetric.  One of the goals was to try to make the right side appear acoustically farther away while still dealing with the bottom end and reflections - without killing it too much since 2 channel is obviously a primary consideration.

The 2 panels directly behind the speakers are also experimental based on preference.  They could also be placed beside the TV or between the speakers when doing 2 channel.

Just want to issue a hardy kudos to Glenn and Bryan. I’ve had the pleasure of working with a number of fine companies that do acoustical treatments over the last 30+ years. And I’ve contracted and worked on a number of custom rooms, etc.

Last year, before RMAF I knew I wanted to treat the room. I’d heard some good things about GIK and pretty soon I was in contact w/ Bryan and Glenn. From the initial email and phone contacts I was impressed. I was even more impressed at the show when they were able to efficiently and quickly use their products to make the room sound WAY better. Both Glenn and Bryan have great ears, and know what to do to get a room sounding really good.

I’m not sure about a lot of the details for this coming year’s RMAF, but one detail I’m sure of is that GIK is treating our room.  :D

Ordered 4 244's last night to go with the 3 242's already in my room. Two vertically for front corners (expect to put on 16" speaker stands) one horizontal between speakers and one likely horizontal, 45° across wall/ceiling between speakers. BREWHAHAHAHA (sinister laugh)

Keep up the good work, guys!!

I met Glenn and Bryan at RMAF and they are good people. I own some of their panels (3x242 and 2x244) and they give great bang for the buck.
