How many different remasters are there of Mrs. Robinson?  I'm in my listening class sitting in the sweet spot.  A student just brought in Mrs. Robinson for his presentation.  This recording clearly has the background keyboard part boosted.  I've never noticed it before.  Please don't tell me that my work system is this revealing.   :icon_surprised:

I have no idea, but I'll go home and listen tonight (I think I own a couple of versions)  Don't tell me you've BlackGated the school system, too!!!

Steve,

Don't even think about it.

I was going to tell you about the school sound system...  but I don't know now.

Actually it is a very budget system.  It just happens to sound freakin' excellent.  I'd like to show anybody who cares to hear it some time.  I have three listenning classes each semester.  That equals 3 hours of intense listening every other day.   :D

It is a pair of Peavey's top of the line three way speakers with 15", a 6", and a 12" horn.

The amp is a Peavey 800 series.  It is their most battle tested amp.  Aparantly it has a clean signal compared to most amps in its class.  It does use the same Mexican sand cast resisters that stock maggies use.  Okay, so I did think about Black gating it.   :icon_lol:  When I saw the resistors, I figured there would be little point unless I replaced the resistors first.

The CD player is a rack mounted Marantz studio series 2 disc CD recorder.

The cables are Rapco's most reliable, battle-safe cables.

Oh yeah, there's a Furman power conditioner in there to protect the system from our many power failures and surges.

We just listened to and analyzed Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell.  Now playing: Jewel, "Adrien".

 :thumb:

BTW: we use this sound system for rock bands  :drums: :guitar:  to perform in our cafeteria as well as at our football field.  In October, the school had a big bonfire and they used this system for a hired rock band.  My house is 2 to 3 miles away.  It sounded GREAT from my back yard.  Seriously, there was clear midrange and clean highs!  I could even feel the thump of the bass in my chest....  okay, I lied about the bass.   :dunno:

So you get paid to listen to rock music 3 hours a day??? If the taxpayers only knew.

So you're the guy they based "School of Rock" on. I see. :green:

And we thought you actually worked for a living.

Nice system BTW. They need to hear your home system sometime.

Peavey CS-800 man that's a pretty good sounding amp, I had one a few years ago. Hated to get rid of it but just too much power for me and my H.E. setups.
  Have fun
