you got your good guys and you got your bad guys. the good guys need to be rewarded. how about an
annual nomination like in the month of JAN for the vendor or sellers we had good dealings with. so go
ahead and nominate your guy.

I'll offer two nominations. Vinnie Rossi of Red Wine Audio and Sean Casey of Zu Audio.

Kevin at DIYCable.
Here's the evidence:
Cable kit ordered 12:15 PM, Wed, Dec 27.
Notified at 6:39 PM, Wed, Dec 27 that package was shipped.
Arrived Saturday, Dec 30 in New Jersey.
Cable (Canare L-2T2S) sounds great BTW.

Ditto,
Wayne at Bolder cable. Turned around my Elpac in a day or two. Turned around my SB 3 in two or three days. Answers emails promptly. Can't ask for better service. Oh, and the products are pretty cool too!
Danny Richie of GR Research. Very helpful, will walk you through anything if you're unsure. Over and above the norm after sales service. Don't know how he makes a buck.
Thanks Wayne,
Thanks, Danny
Cheers

I'd have to second the one on Danny (GR) too. Despite an obvious wealth of knowledge, he seems to remain patient with those of us that are mere mortals in this whole DIY loudspeaker thang, yet he's doing significant designs for the big boys too.

I've had good experiences dealing with several AC vendors in the past year. However, i've had the best dealings with:
Rick Craig of Selah Audio
Greg Ball, designer of the Simple Killer Amplifier (SKA)

Louis at Omega-For considering every outrageous suggestion I could come up with and explaining why they would or would not work.
Vinnie at Red Wine Audio-For backing up his products, helping me to set them up, and most of all dealing with the Olive Company.
Nathan at Eighth Nerve for suggesting the best way to build his room treatment system piece by piece.
To all of the posters on AC whose recommendations, suggestions, raves and rants have allowed myself to build the best sounding sound system I have ever had the privilege to listen to.
Thank You One And All

Without a doubt two of the "vendors" that come to mind,
Mark Schifter of AV123 has to be the "gentleman of audio". In regards to a situation, he responded both with kindness and humility. Something that is so rare in today's world. He talked "with" me and not "to" me, not like I was a machine but as a human being. This I will remember. In regards to his products. We are in agreement.
The Borg of AudioCircle has to be on the list. While I cannot agree with "No Ads, Beat That!" It is his sandbox and he is allowing us to play here and it is cool to be able to do so. We have an avenue where we can get answers to questions, exchange ideas and thoughts and meet some interesting and remarkable people.
Remember this, "The Borg is everywhere and The Borg is my friend". It's an inside joke so just scratch your head and smile, if you understood you would laugh your guts out!!

I nominate all the vendors that have a Circle here on AudioCircle....
Each provides an excellent product, and good service.
If they didn't
....they wouldn't be around here for very long.
They are what makes AudioCircle so unique.....

Definitely Mark Schifter of AV123 and Danny Richie of GR Research. I would also include Nico Bruzzese of Totem Acoustic, CC Poon of Monarchy Audio, and John Wanderscheid of Aperion Audio. These five gentlemen are a throwback to old fashioned business ethics and standards.

A vendor is doing something right when he has customers looking for excuses to buy more of his products. Wayne (of Bolder Cables), Louis (of Omega) and Dusty (of Channel Islands Audio) have no idea how hard I'm trying! Thanks for making my system sound great, and for offering wonderful support.

In no particular order...
Danny (GR Research) has always been great to deal with. Ships exactly what your order, exactly when he says he will, every time.
Klaus (Odyssey). Though I haven't bought anything from him in a couple of years he always takes care of his customers. I bought one of the very first pairs of the Extreme Mono's (still have them) and one of them was DOA. A quick phone call and they were on their way back to Indy. Fortunately the UPS dudes didn't kill them a second time.
Kevin (DIY Cable) has also been great to deal with. Quick shipments and great service. Had a product damaged in shipping, he sent a new one the next day.
Jim Hagerman (Hagtech), I've bought several kits from Jim and he's always be great to deal with.
Ron Welborne (Welborne Labs). Ordered some stuff from Ron and then decided after the fact to pick it up instead of having him ship it. He refunded my shipping without me asking him to do so. Really nice to deal with an honest person.
Chris Brady (Teres Audio). Chris did everything he could to help me piece together my Teres on a budget and is a truly nice guy.
Some I haven't bought anything from but have still been exceptionally decent and willing to answer questions.
Hugh Dean (AKSA). In public and private Hugh is always a gentleman and a wealth of knowledge.
Wayne (Bolder Cable). Oddly enough I don't think I've bought any of Wayne's products. We've traded work and parts but very little cash.
Duke LeJeune (AudioKenesis). I talked with Duke quite a bit at RMAF and found a very passionate and very friendly individual who was as far from the hoity toity type as can be.
And of course (as others have said) you have to nominate Mark Schifter. Mark is definitely one of the nicest guys in the business and offers some of the best deals available. This has to be extended to his employees as well. Everyone I've ever talked to from AV123 has been friendly and genuinely seemed to want to help.

If any vendor take good care of all of their customers and stand behind their products, regardless of if the customers bought them new or second hand, then that vendor deserve my nomination.

my list:
Al Wooley at Raw Acoustics
Bill Baker at Response Audio
Danny at GR Research
Glenn Kuras at GIK
John at Black Sand Cable
Nathan at Eighth Nerve
Shane Sangster at The Home Theater Doc
Tate Blanchard at Ultrasonic
Wayne at Bolder Cable
Pretty much the people/companies I've dealt with during the past year. All with excellent customer service and products
It's a rare thing nowadays but very well represented in the above companies.

Over the years a person gets to notice many of these sort of polls for nominations for excellence or whatever else for in different settings. These requests for nominations come in the form of who's had the best attendance, the best customer service, best products and services, least errors, and the list goes on and on. What comes as no suprise to me is that most of the time the people really deserving of some honors or awards are never recognized or honored or even nominated for anything because they seem to be always overlooked and go along their own business unnoticed. It is a pattern I have noticed quite frequently over the years whether it be at some of my jobs or other venues. Seems the same people that are considered popular or well liked or whatever are the same ones that are first up for the nominations, accolades, and honors. Are those nominees non-deserving? Probably no more so than the ones that are never considered for anything. The ones unnoticed are generally people that hardly seem to bring attention to themselves, but none the less go the distance time and time again without bringing any attention to themselves and never complain. Seems to me I've seen many of the nominees mentioned above when someone asks for recommendations of some sort for audio equipment either on this forum or elsewhere. Again, are those listed above undeserving? No more so than the one I see go unnoticed more often: ACI and staff.

Fortunately for us there are a lot of good people in the business of audio. I like to thank Gregg Straley of
Reality Cables. I had some questions and he went out of his way to answer in a very long and detailed
email. For sure a good guy to buy from. And what can I say about Steve Sammet of SAS Audio Labs.
He is a very patient person. I asked a lot of questions and many emails and took up a lot of his time.
For sure a good guy to buy from.
I am sure like life a lot of people go unnoticed and unrecognized. If you had a good experience that you
felt we should know about tell us. The internet levels the playing field.
