Over the years a person gets to notice many of these sort of polls for nominations for excellence or whatever else for in different settings. These requests for nominations come in the form of who's had the best attendance, the best customer service, best products and services, least errors, and the list goes on and on. What comes as no suprise to me is that most of the time the people really deserving of some honors or awards are never recognized or honored or even nominated for anything because they seem to be always overlooked and go along their own business unnoticed. It is a pattern I have noticed quite frequently over the years whether it be at some of my jobs or other venues. Seems the same people that are considered popular or well liked or whatever are the same ones that are first up for the nominations, accolades, and honors. Are those nominees non-deserving? Probably no more so than the ones that are never considered for anything. The ones unnoticed are generally people that hardly seem to bring attention to themselves, but none the less go the distance time and time again without bringing any attention to themselves and never complain. Seems to me I've seen many of the nominees mentioned above when someone asks for recommendations of some sort for audio equipment either on this forum or elsewhere. Again, are those listed above undeserving? No more so than the one I see go unnoticed more often: ACI and staff.
