Stop teasing, Brian. Show us some pics of the VSS. Or are you gonna make us beg?

I have emailed Dubravko some pix of the VSS prototype and asked him to clean them up and post.

Production VSS is slightly smaller than shown, 30"W instead of 32".

It would sure look even more stunning with the front grill removed sitting next to the RM-V60 if the front was also done in matching rosewood.  Do you think that may be an option, or a direction for a later production run?

Delia of Sound Art in Guangdong and I have been emailing back and forth furiously on this very subject.

The VSS will have matching veneered fronts and finishes that go with the V60.

The pictures show a cherry Larger Sub modded with thicker baffles (2" instead of 1") and our splendid new 15" active.

hi brian,

when are you going to be offering upright versions of your subs, like the older-style subs?  maybe not as wife-friendly, but more performance-friendly, imo...

thanks...

Hi Duggie,

Does the VLA (Very Large Array) work for an "upright" for you?

It is 6 feet tall and 14.5"W x 19"D

Four Forward firing 12" megawoofers, and one Down Firing 12" Passive Radiator and a Side Firing 15" Passive Radiator.

1000w amp w/volume, phase, and single band equalizer controls

hi john,

yes, it works; only the $10k/pair price tag is somewhat of an obstacle.   :?  a half-sized, half-priced (& even cheaper for passive) iteration of the vla would be interesting...  i guess i will just have to remain content w/my pair of original larger subs, upgraded w/megawoofers.   :green:

You may have missed Brian's new, "tuning" method, which also works for the VLA.

He includes a chainsaw   To make a single VLA a stereo pair.

Tonite we pack the delivery van with our Show materials and prepare for the arduous 11hr drive to Las Vegas.

The RM V60 is complete, to the best of my abilities.  As a designer I don't think I can do much better. It remains for CES visitors to determine for themselves how good the system is, how faithful to the music, how close one can come to live sound in a residential environment given the best available sources.

On to The Show!

That's true.  I bet Brian said this with the RM40, the RMX....  They keep getting better and better.

Well, I have learned a lot about open baffle speakers with the V60, that's for sure.  Still, comparing it yesterday to the RM 30C I found the small system excellent in every regard.  Yet the V60 blows it out the door.

I think I'll stop for now and stick with our current lineup.  I hope the world is as enthusiastic about the 60's as I am.

Maybe John Casler can blog from CES and give us his impressions.

Yes, please do.  I am curious as to how you have set the system up for the show, the placement of the subwoofers, dipole, partial dipole etc.  Also, how did the room itself dictate these particular placements and settings.
