Clarity Cap SA Series

Just noticed this over on TNT Audio:

http://www.tnt-audio.com/accessories/claritycap_e.html

It is about the SA series of capacitors which I use in the Ronin.  I went through quite a few caps, replacing everything in the circuit except the woofer shunt cap and found that I liked these the best after about 3 weeks of listening to each brand that I tested.  The review is correct though, they are VERY large.

Definitely a quality product.  My experience with them is only with speakers where they have worked very well.

Tony Gee liked them quite a bit in his cap comparisons although they seem less scientific.

Happy Reading!

You are right on.... the SAs are an awesome cap for a VERY reasonable price.

Kevin, have you tried the DTAC's?

I got my samples and then just said "forget it".  If you had a 5" woofer, and a 15uF cap, you wouldn't be able to put the cap through the woofer hole, the thing is like a CD!!!

And M8 screw terminals????  Crazy

The main problem is that you have to design a PCB around them to even give them an honest listen.    Even if they are superior, it wouldn't be a finanancially viable proposition due to the mounting difficulties.

So in short.... no I have not tried them although I use one as a paper weight on my desk.  ;-)
