Anyone have experience changing out the cap/caps in a Fender Stratocaster.  My Strat is modded a bit and has a total of 2 caps. . .one on each tone pot.  They are the standard caps that came w/ it and the value is .022uf.  Looking for what type of changes caps made for those who may be in the know.

I've changed the volume pots on mine. I believe stock is a 250 Kohm, changed to 500kohm. ( I hope I got the order right, and values.

The difference from stock is the way the highs roll off as you turn down the volume. I believe that the mod doesn't roll of the highs as much. Some of my Strats have it, some don't. It's been years, so I don't remember.

I've always taken the tone controls out of the signal path, sorry I can't help you there.

Thanks.  I was looking more for changes made changing the quality of the components vs. the value.  I have a TBX tone control in mine and a push-pull knob for the other.  The TBX takes away bass in one direction, treble in the other, vs. just taking away treble for a normal tone pot.  The push-pull allows me, when pulled up, to control the volume of the neck pick-up and blend it w/ any other pickup (so, I can actually have all 3 pick-ups, or bridge/neck, which can't be done w/ normal 5-way switching). . .a pretty cool mod.

Oh, the mods are easy and playing w/ the new sounds is fun!  It's kinda like getting a new Strat!
