I wonder if Wayne can be persuaded to bring a set of 626R's and his tube equipment?

That is exactly what I plan to bring :D

I thought I would start out with my modded CAL Delta feeding a MENSA DI/O. That would be hooked up with a pair of Cryo'ed Silver Bullet Bybee NITROs to a Radii tube pre-amp. There will be a Radii tube power amp, the big QSC power amp with the QSC digital crossover/EQ.  I will bring my 626R's with Soundcoat and Auricaps. The Larger Subwoofer will also make the trip out. I will have the new speaker cable and power cables. All the power will be through a Bybee Power Bar.

To get back to the intent of this thread and away from commercials :wink:, my son gave me the SE LOTR and a really cool hands free headset for my phone. Not audio related, but my daughter gave me a very nice gel mouse pad and keyboard rest.

I gave both of them some CDs and my son got a new portable CD player. Now he wants a pair of "sport-style" headphones so they won't muss his do :?

Crap!  I better bring my checkbook.  :D

Well, I got y'all. Twice.

I see this where HD has moved to, led by the inimitable Nathan Da Finga :lol: I feel better now, Nate. :-))))

As for Christmas, Santa was kinda early this year, and here's what he brought me:

Audioquest interconnect cables - three different sets;
Karan Acoustics KA-i180 - integrated amp, latest incarnation;
P&K Audio 2x8W SET integrated amp - looks like a million dollars;
DeZorel RP1, yet to be announced on the coming CES.

My only problem is, I have to give it all back when I'm done. :

Not so cheerful,
DVV

My system gave me a Christmas gift of sorts in the past while. It seems to have all come together over the past week or so very nicely. The last "mod" or change to the whole thing was a month or more ago when I changed the power cables for some home grown ones.
Listening for the past week, I realise that it really sounds very smooth. Despite all the room challenges and lack of isolation etc, I am really enjoying it for the first time in months.
I did also get Norah Jones but haven't had a chance to listen yet. I can't wait but the kids are now tucked up thankfully and I don't want to risk more Christmas exuberance :)
Cool forum. I hope lots of HD'ers get on it.
Neil.

Now that Wayne has broken cover on the MENSA DI/O I guess I can mention that Wayne has upgraded my smART to MENSA status and its now sitting on my office desk waiting for me to get back from vacation.  He also added a bybee filter to the external power supply.  He's also sent a Bybee Quantum power strip (which I ordered for a friend but which I will try at home), and ICs (NITRO, M80).  Finally, today, I have emailed Wayne re a 1m Type 2 IC with Bybees and Bullet Plugs that he has listed as part of his clearance sale.

Dejan,

Sounds like you had quite a haul of new toys.  What is the DeZoral RP1, by the way?

Cheers,

- Jay

I can bring my DIY tube amps if you like. The only problem is having something to drive with them.

Any day now I'll be receiving a pair of Acoustic Reality eAROne MKII monoblocks and a pair of 72" Tetra Living speakers.  A FronT eAR preamp is on order but hasn't shipped yet.  I was hoping it would all come before Christmas but that didn't work out unfortunately.  I am also currently playing with a pair of Adire Kosalas paired with my Consonance M500 SET monoblocks.  Fun, fun fun!!

Well I'm glad you're pleased with my avatar Dejan! (Couldn't find where I put Mr. Sad Pear on ye olde hard drive) Hey, if you want your very own 13x19" full color print of Brother Theodore flipping the bird just visit my website.  (it's right down there, that lil' button) The index page explains all.  There's 23 left to anyone that wants one.  It'll be a collector's item fetching hundreds in the indie art market once I shove off this mortal coil.  Does this count as advertising?  The BT prints are technically free ya know.  My apologies if anyone is put off by this.  Of course, who the hell knows if you'd ever get it.  Yugoslavian customs would probably impound it, right?  Har!

All I got for Christmas...

For Christmas I received a swift kick in the gluteas MAXIMUS for setting up my speakers in a way that dominates the room.  Oops.

However, Mrs. Clause also told me that my new Headroom headphone system is on the way, complete with Sennheisers.

Now if I could only do something about the HORRIBLE office system electronics I have.

Nathan, your morbid self portrait is extremely good.

Vinyl:  Pearl Jam Riot Act and a PJ 45.

Waiting for the LLC-P from IRD to match the mb100's.  Can't wait!

Hi everyone,

Nice to be here and congratulations on the new site! :D

I have been enjoying my new 6021W pencil tube dac with built-in DACT volume control. A DeZorel AR Senior w/ ground is on the way and so is a 1m pair of Au/Ag Silver Stealth interconnects.

Happy listening!

Just spent about an hour on your site. Well, well! Not often I see sites like that, not counting the bulleting boards, I average about 3-4 minutes tops. My hat off, Nathan, you deserve it.

And yes, I do want a print of brother Theodore, an e-mail print downloaded to me is just fine.

Cheers,
DVV

Thanks to Marbles for telling me about this place!  I see some names I recognize!  He asked about my interest in a forum here.  I'll talk with him and see what's what.  BTW, Eric, glad you got some replacement cabs.  I emailed you about building you some but don't know if you ever received it.

Anyway, I don't know if you can call it a Christmas present, but I'm waiting on 3 Adire Audio Tumults to arrive!  Unfortunately, only 1 of them is mine! :(  But it'll be a slightly different end table sub that what most of you have probably seen.

I went to Home Depot and bought the MDF for my Titan II.  The kit has been sitting in my front closet for about two months now.

OHHHH!  I tried these out for about 3 weeks and decided they weren't right for me, but I liked them very much and kept hoping I could convince myself to keep them.  They had amazingly detailed bass and a very natural and lifelike musical presentation.  I also thought they were really cool looking.  Unfortunately, in my room and with my equipment at the time, they tended to be a bit thin sounding.  Anyway, I hope you love them!

Hoping the same.

I've heard them a bunch of times at a local dealer..  Curious to see how they work out with my system and my room...

Got them cheap, and couldn't pass up the opportunity.  A few months back was going to pick up another pair used and locally for around the same cost, and then someone came along mid transaction and offered the guy a bunch more....no problem, but didn't get to bring them home...

They'll be delivered in the next few days and will be giving them a shot within the next week...once I have suitable biwire cables again..

From everyone I've spoken with, placement is a hellish multi-month process -- should be interesting trying to move these suckers around a lot.  Very curious to find as well what my room effects will be like with a planar....

Already got the Bolder Bybee'd silver pullet plugged Nitros (yes!) and the Symphonic Line Erleuchtung (Enlightenment) preamp will be here next week!  It's gonna be a very good new year :-)
