Sounds like a plan Scott. To save time, we could play a scramble too. (That's assuming any of us can drive)

Sounds like a plan, 14th at 9 or so?
I just need to be told where gateway is/how to get there.
Guess I WON'T buy new club until after this outing as I would be too tempted to try them out and I am bad enough with my current setup!
looking forward to it!

OK,

I just called Gateway and they don't take Tee times this far in advance  The take reservations 14 days in advance on the website but only take phone reservations 7 days in advance  The guy said that we will need to log onto the the website and make our Tee time as early as possible as Saturdays fill up pretty quick. I'll give it a shot this Sat and will post the time I get.

I'm assuming its just a foursome, right? (Mike D, Jamie, Steve and me)

in spite of where I live I'm a terrible golfer.  A hack- a nuisance to anyone with a house nearby.

I'm glad you guys have found your four though.  Enjoy!

It sounds like we have quite a few hackers here in the GAS , myself included. We should organise an actual GAS golf outing perhaps on a Sunday when more of us can attend. It could be fun.  :)

Thanks, Scott, for checking on the tee times.

I just checked my calendar for a Sunday date as Tim suggested.  The only dates I have potentially available are Oct 8 and Nov 19th.  By then, we are talking about a bit of a chill in the air.

We'll have to get a jump on this as soon as the weather gets decent in the Spring.

Guys,

Got a tee time for 8:12 on Sat 10/14. That should give us plenty of time to get 18 in and still get Jamie to work on time.

We've got a 48 hour cancellation notice. So if somebody drops out you need to let me know so I can cancel that particular reservation otherwise you still get stuck with the greens fee of $69.50. Speaking of which, we can square up on fees at the course.

For directions, heres the link to the course.
Gateway National - http://www.gatewaynational.com/page/292-12746.htm
Their address is at the bottom.

See you guys then!
(Steve give me a buzz, I'm thinking about picking you up around 7am. That should give us a few minutes to hit some balls on the practice tees).

Thats cool! My wife and I have been talking about doing that for a long time. I assume its ballroom dancing? There are a number of dance bands and clubs around the area. Its great way to get even deeper into the music plus stay fit at the same time.

Good for both you guys and yer wives!
Me and mine did a semester of classes about 4 years ago.  Besides of learning how to dance to a *lot* of music, I would say that it was the single-most important set of lessons on communication in our marriage.
One learns not to bite one's tongue when someone is dancing on your toes :cuss: , if you get my drift.
Similarly, one learns to take criticism better than I ever knew in my first marriage.

I didn't wanna hijack yer thread, but you both get 'atta-boy's for the extra points yer earning with yer wives!

Dance on!

Gotta love it!. I've got the new SB3 up and running (playing Rob Zombies Dead Girl right now).

Well, the first annual GAS Golf was a success!!! Steve, Jamie, Mike D and myself made it out to Gateway and had one heck of a good time. We had a bit of a frost delay for about 40 minutes this morning but we made it out.

Heres a pic of Jamie (finishing his swing) and Steve on the second tee box. The hole has a cool view of Downtown. Not sure if you can see it but thats the Arch in the background.

sorry about the pic quality, that one is from my phone.

We all decided that we need to do this more often. Maybe even an annual tournament of sorts where we can bring in the local shops and have a few give aways. Should be fun if we can get enough players.

Anyway, it was the first time I'd played the course and I was sufficiently impressed. Even though it was fairly flat, placement of the traps and other hazards made it for a pretty challenging 18. The course was in great shape.

We all pretty much suck at golf though I think each of us had enough decent shots on occasion to keep us coming back.

Totally enjoyable :thumb:

I had a great time today, currently at work trying to stay awake, at least the Cards are giving me something to cheer about at the moment.
Yes a tourny in the spring/summer is a must. I think it would be a great way to garner some interest in GAS and have a great time to boot.
One thing about this morning - it was COLD!

The picture of me almost makes me look like I know what I am doing :duh:  :nono:

PS
 I GOT A DAC!
