I like 16 ga. black colored lamp cord. It's about .11 cents a foot and one lead has ribs on it to keep the phasing correct. I use it on all of my AVA amps and they sound great.

My  AVA T7 preamp has an IEC connector with just a few inches of Franks original lamp cord out the back. I’ve tried several different power cords and each and everyone sound different.


Although I have not heard his cables myself, many people I respect have heard these and like them quite a bit.

I’ve used JPS IC’s and liked them a lot. But I agree with the Synergistic cables and wire are hard to beat for the money. If I were to buy new speaker cables I’d buy either a Synergistic or an MIT. The MIT S3’s are excellent, they have solid and abundant bass that’s tight, with well balanced mids and highs with a great big sound stage in comparison to most other speaker cables at any price.

I second John1970's recommendation -- Belden speaker cable from Blue Jeans or Zebra Cable. You can't beat BJC's IC either.

Well Forum member Se7en has been very cool and generously offered to send me his 8' set of Kimber 8TC speaker wire to use. Ive hooked my system up temporarily with Rat Shack 16 gauge speaker wire. The mids are very good but the highs sound kind of tinkly. The bass is non existant and vocals sound strained. At the moment the system is plugged into a surge protector because most of the outlets in the apartment are not grounded. Thanks to everyone and especially to Se7en for his generosity. Ill report back when I make more changes.

I'm running Kimber 8TC and couldn't be happier.  Very musical and great detail.
I'm using it with a Cary SLI-80 and JM Lab Cobalt 816's.

Buy it bulk and terminate it yourself.
