Put a sock on it?
« on: 16 Aug 2006, 02:19 am »
Hey B!  My piano black RM30's w/CDWG's look great except for those shiny bolts and nuts on the Neo panels showing through the CDWG's opening.  Any thought ever been given to a stretchy sock-like thing?  Kinda like a cat suit for my not-so-beautiful, not quite hand-rubbed waveguides.

FWIW, the RM30's in piano black do have quite a large presence.  A soft, silky look on the waveguides would certainly soften they're overall presence in my living room.

Try blacking out the PCB and screws with Magic Marker or similar, it really helps the look.

To cover the screws you could also use a thin piece of black plastic (cut to fit) or black construction paper.

Just my ideas,

John

We're starting to paint the screws and PCB with black epoxy, which covers everything and anchors the fasteners in place.

Black Epoxy paint??

Brian,

The black epoxy paint is an interesting idea.  Is the painting done by hand.  If so, can you please supply me with the manufacturer of the black epoxy paint so I can do this in field.

Thank you,

John

It's not paint, but glue.  You should be able to find it at hardware stores.

Are you sure none of these black colored epoxies are not conductive?
