Looks like the best audiophile scam I have ever seen. Next thing you know they will be releasing audiophile grade paint to put onto the walls! What a bunch of BS!John
Don't be hatin' now people...everybody knows you can't say anything bad about a product unless you've tried it yourself. So go on, go and listen to your outlet covers tonight. I dare you! Then get the Machina Dynamica ones and compare them. Then see if you aren't convinced. What does it hurt to try? The price is very inexpensive for the sheer amount of performance increase you get. I even put them against some hand-painted folk art receptacle covers that my grandma made and there was no contest, the Machina Dynamica model blew them off the walls, so to speak. The only ones that came close in sonics were a pair of custom covers with a backlit clown and balloon nightlight.
It's not just the audiophile community that does this. You should take a look at one of the catalogs with car upgrades. A friend of mine has a Vette, and there's this catalog with upgraded parts. Each part adds horsepower and torque. You buy this $3000 exhaust, and you gain 50hp! Next you buy the cold air intake, and you're up 8 more horsepower. The book is 30+ pages long with JUST performance upgrades. If one bought them all, they'd have a Vette with 2000 horsepower, and enough torque to reverse the Earth's rotation. They get away with it, and that's a hobby where this stuff can be MEASURED on a dyno! I guess my point is that this happens in every industry and hobby. People have a lot of money to spend (after the government gets what they feel is their share), and they're going to spend it.
You have to give credit where it's due. Just when I think there can't be anything to top the little clock, they come out with this. http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/auc.pl?accstwek&1154748746&1154544868. I keep looking for a smiley face icon indicating a joke but I don't see it. A 50 cent "acrylic" for $30?

I'm going to begin testing today on naked AC outlets. That's right - no wall plate at all. If stripping away the cartridge body was such a meaningful improvement and speakers without cabinets perform so well, this has to be a move in the right direction...
I have two clever little clocks in my system and I just love them! No kidding!
Freeway was blocked this morning and I took a de tour to work which led me to drive right behind Machina Dynamica (2978 Yarling Ct. Falls Church, VA 22042). I don't know if he has any sign out front but it's in a residential town house development.
