Looks like the best audiophile scam I have ever seen.  Next thing you know they will be releasing audiophile grade paint to put onto the walls!

What a bunch of BS!

John
That audiophile grade paint is a good idea...perfect tie in with the outlet covers....and WAF....she can pick the color's....

Don't be hatin' now people...everybody knows you can't say anything bad about a product unless you've tried it yourself.  So go on, go and listen to your outlet covers tonight.  I dare you!  Then get the Machina Dynamica ones and compare them.  Then see if you aren't convinced.  What does it hurt to try?  The price is very inexpensive for the sheer amount of performance increase you get.  I even put them against some hand-painted folk art receptacle covers that my grandma made and there was no contest, the Machina Dynamica model blew them off the walls, so to speak.  The only ones that came close in sonics were a pair of custom covers with a backlit clown and balloon nightlight.

This is classic!.  I think you have it down, nathanm. ;)

I have no doubt that if they get reviewed the reviewer will say something like "They sound as good as outlet covers costing 3 to 4 times as much".   :o

How can you argue with that?

It's not just the audiophile community that does this.

You should take a look at one of the catalogs with car upgrades.  A friend of mine has a Vette, and there's this catalog with upgraded parts.  Each part adds horsepower and torque.  You buy this $3000 exhaust, and you gain 50hp!  Next you buy the cold air intake, and you're up 8 more horsepower.

The book is 30+ pages long with JUST performance upgrades.  If one bought them all, they'd have a Vette with 2000 horsepower, and enough torque to reverse the Earth's rotation.

They get away with it, and that's a hobby where this stuff can be MEASURED on a dyno!  I guess my point is that this happens in every industry and hobby.  People have a lot of money to spend (after the government gets what they feel is their share), and they're going to spend it.

We used to joke about mental horsepowers: a wooden shift knob is +10 mental horsepower, a chrome exhaust tip is +20 mental horsepower, a pine air freshener is +5 mental horsepower ....

Do they also cause less magnetic interference than wooden outlet covers?

You have to give credit where it's due.  Just when I think there can't be anything to top the little clock, they come out with this.  http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/auc.pl?accstwek&1154748746&1154544868.  I keep looking for a smiley face icon indicating a joke but I don't see it.  A 50 cent "acrylic" for $30?

Woodsyi, among these magical wall plates, I think the most expensive so far is still Oyaide WPC-XXX/WPC-Z: http://www.oyaide.com/e_audio/audio_products_files/wpc-xxx.htm

Does the product become more "persuasive" or "effective" if it comes from a well-known brand?   I truly wonder.  8)  I can not resist but tol ask this: has anyone tried either of these before?   Who knows may be it really works in some mysterious ways.  :)

At least that wall plate is made out of cool materials.  Everyone knows that carbon fiber makes wallplates faster. :)

Looks like the best audiophile scam I have ever seen.

I still think that selling Blu-Tak for $12/strip was the best audiophile scam I've ever seen.  I buy the stuff for $25/case (144 strips)... 8)

Sounds completely like something they would do.  Do you work in their product strategy group or something?

PhilNYC,

No I am not part of their product strategy group!!  I guess if someone is dense enough to buy it you might as well sell it!  It would be quite humorous if they released audiophile paint as their next "product".

Cheers,

John

I'm going to begin testing today on naked AC outlets. That's right - no wall plate at all. If stripping away the cartridge body was such a meaningful improvement and speakers without cabinets perform so well, this has to be a move in the right direction. I anticipate a certain amount of challenge on the WAF front and I must caution those of you with small children and animals to be circumspect about imitating this daring experiment.
I'm hoping that removing the plate and giving the electrons more elbow room will lend increased air to the presentation. Think about how constricting a wall plate must be to your AC supply regardless of its origin or pedigree.
If anyone else is bold enough to attempt this, please post your results. I'm strongly considering marketing this  tweek.

Hey!

Hmmm.... naked AC outlet, naked cartridge, and naked speakers eh? :D

That's give me an idea! I think I will listen to the music naked tonight and see if there any improvment with the sound of my system.

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

While the products this company makes, seem to be pure BS, and the only explanations offered are so convoluted and technical im not sure anyone can follow them.

At another forum, AudioKarma.org there is the opportunity for members to demo the products, and report back free of charge. Check it out.

My guess is either Machina Dynamica will either prove to be truly legit. Or hit with truly embarassing reviews.

Maybe my system would sound better if I listen to it while wearing audiophile clothes.

Freeway was blocked this morning and I took a de tour to work which led me to drive right behind Machina Dynamica (2978 Yarling Ct. Falls Church, VA 22042).  I don't know if he has any sign out front but it's in a residential town house development.

Would the quantum accelerator clear up the traffic jam?

How did you know it was Machina Dynamica?  Was there a big pile of bullshit on the front lawn? :P
